Designer

Designer is GUI tool to design service and to develop service.
Screen Configuration of Designer can show/hide only the function matching the purpose of developer, therefore, you can operate on screen configuration which is easy to use due to the unique screen.

To launch Designer

You can click the [Designer] on the DataSpiderStudio.

Designer Screen Configuration

(7)	Execution log	When you run the script in debug mode, execution log display.	The log information depends on the log level.
	Debug information	When you run the script in debug mode, values of script variables inside script will display.
	Error log details	When you run the script in debug mode,error details will display.

Open project		Opens an existing project.
Save project		Saves the project.	There are notes on saving projects. Refer to "Notes" for details.
Rename project		Renames the name of the project
Close project		Closes the project.
Team development	Commit	Commit the the local project to the server project. If the changes crash, it will be detected as a conflict.	Enable when team development is enabled. Refer to "Team Development" for details.
	Update	Update the local project with the the server project. If the changes crash, will be detected as a conflict.
	Replace project with latest version	Destroy the local project and overwrite with the latest server contents.
	Resolve conflicts of projects	Display the menu related to the project conflict solving. [Confirm conflict information of the projects]: Display the project conflict information dialog. [Replace project with latest version]: Destroy the local project and overwrite the project with the latest server contents. [Continue local editing]: Override the local contents and solve the project conflict. Committing to the server is only possible afterwards.
Register project as service		Register created project to server. For projects registered to server, you can execute them from external system such as triggers or ScriptRunner.	See Restrictions on characters used in the names of the services for the restrictions on the usage of characters in service names.
Generate project specifications		Generates project specifications in HTML form in client OS local file system.	The definition of a global resource information is not output. Refer to Generate project specifications for details.
Close editor		Closes the selected editor.When two or more editors are selected, only the active editor will be closed.
Close all editors		Closes all editors opened.
Properties		Shows the property dialog.
Exit		Exits Designer.

Edit menu

For icons and scripts being selected, each editing operation can be performed.

Redo	Execute again the edition operation which was canceled by "Undo".
Cut	Cuts selected scripts and icons.
Copy	Copies selected scripts and icons.
Paste	Pastes copied scripts and icons.
Delete	Deletes selected scripts and icons
Select all	Select all the icons or scripts.
Search	Find the component from the project that are currently opened.	In the [Search component] screen, press enter to close the screen without searching. To execute the search process, press [Search].

View menu

you can display the various settings in the designer such as show/hide frame, or the showing content on script canvas.

Show test result view		Select to show/hide "Test result view".	It does not appear by default .
Sort icon		Sort the icon directory under the project/folder selected in project explorer. Sorting icon is not performed recursively, it is only for the icons right under the selected icon.
	Name	Sort icon by name.
	Date created	Sort icon by date created.
	Date modified	Sort icon by date modified.
Initialize layout		Return to the default state of the view/editor of all .
Maximize current view		Maximize the the selected frame on designer.
Switch editor		Switch editors being deployed on script canvas.
Switch view		Switch between each frame displayed in the designer.

Alignment

You can place icons on script canvas.

Description of items

Align left	The script is left-aligned. When left aligning, coordinate X of all the icons selected in script canvas will be located same as the icon in the leftmost among selected icons.
Align right	The script is right-aligned. When right aligning, coordinate X of all the icons selected in script canvas will be located same as the icon in the rightmost among selected icons.
Align top	The script is top-aligned. When top aligning, coordinate X of all the icons selected in script canvas will be located same as the icon in the topmost among selected icons.
Align bottom	The script is bottom-aligned. When bottom aligning, coordinate X of all the icons selected in script canvas will be located same as the icon in the bottommost among selected icons.
Align horizontally	Place the selected icon to the middle of the left and right.
Align vertically	Place the selected icon to the middle of the top and bottom.

Execution test

You can set/release breakpoint or operation related to running script.

Description of items

Start/restart debug	Execute the script in debug mode.When running debug, the script works as follows. Suspends operation at the set breakpoints on the script icon. If the script is stopped at breakpoint, restart the operation of the script. In execution history, processing time is displayed for each icon.	There are notes on running scripts. Refer to "Notes" for details. Do not close the Designer while the script is stopped at the breakpoint. Make sure to restart and end the script before closing the Designer.
Run	Run the script.If running, the script works as follows. Even set a breakpoint in the script icon, run the process of script until the END icon without stop. In execution history, processing time is not displayed for each icon.	There are notes on running scripts. Refer to "Notes" for details.
Stop	Stop the running script.	It could take minutes to stop some scripts.
Build	Compile a script.
Set/release breakpoint	Set/release breakpoint for icons selected on script canvas.
Release all breakpoints	Release breakpoint for all icons on script canvas.

Tool menu

Start each type of tool related to designer.

The dedicated tool menu is displayed in the Mapper Editor.

The dialog to set options for the designer.In the Options dialog you can set the following options.

Help menu

Shows help and the version of the DataSpiderServer.

Script menu

The menu shown by selecting script then right-clicking.

Description of items

	Restore script from local history	Recover the script from the local history.
	Resolve conflicts of scripts	Display the menu related to the script conflict solving. [Confirm conflict information of the script]: Display the Script properties which shows conflict information of the script. [Replace script with latest version]: Destroy the local script and overwrite the script with the latest server contents. [Continue local editing]: Override the local contents and solve the script conflict. Committing to the server is only possible afterwards.
Output XML for executing script		On client local file system, output ScriptRunner startup configuration file.	The ssl element is not output.Set the ssl value manually.

Script variables

You can create a script variable on the [File]-[New]-[Script variable].

Script properties

Sets the following settings.

Basic information

Shows information about the script as follows.

Last modified on server	Shows the time when the most recent version of the server project was saved..
Last modified user on server	Shows the user who commit the most recent version of the server project .

Lock information	Shows the status of locked or not locked. When the script is locked, the State is "Locked. " and when the script is not locked, the State is "Not locked."
Owner	Shows the owner who locked the script.	Shows when the [State] is "Locked." .
Host which locks	Shows the host name or IP address the user who locked the script is logging in.	Shows when the [State] is "Locked." .
Time when lock was acquired	Shows the time when the lock was acquired.	Shows when the [State] is "Locked." .

I/O

Sets I/O settings for script variables on the "I/O" configuration dialog.
You can set I/O settings of all script variables in this "I/O" configuration dialog. You can also set I/O settings of each script variable on the script variable properties.

Transaction

Select a transaction type of the script.The value defaults to "SUPPORTS".

Refer to "Transaction" for details.

Data processing method

Select a data processing method of the script.

Refer to "Mass data processing" for details.

Execution test

You can set values which are defined in the [Execution test] to script input variables, when the script is executed in debugging mode.
Enabled when the [Set argument value when test is executed] is checked.

Generate project specifications

Basic information

Description of items

Script Canvas

In script canvas, you can put component icons on a script canvas and drag & drop them to make flows.

For more details, refer to "Placing component icons" and "Drow a flow".

Component menu

This is the menu which is shown when you select and right-click a component icon.

	Align Top	Align top the selected icons. When you execute Align Top, Y-coordicates of all the selected icons on the script canvas becomes equal position to that which is at the most top.
	Align Bottom	Align bottom the selected icons. When you execute Align Bottom, Y-coordicates of all the selected icons on the script canvas becomes equal position to that which is at the most bottom.
	Align Horizontal	Justify the selected icons horizontal.
	Align Vertical	Justify the selected icons vertical.
Global Schema	Register Input Schema	Register input schema of the selected icon as global schema.	For more details, refer to "How to register from script canvas".
Global Schema	Register Output Schema	Register output schema of the selected icon as global schema.	For more details, refer to "How to register from script canvas".
Properties		Open the properties window of the selected icon.
Help		Open the help of the selected icon.

Execution history

When you run the script in debug mode, processing time of icon and processing time of entire script and percentage of process will be displayed in percentage.

Execution History

The processing time of each icon and entire script are displayed.

The percentage of time to run script is always displayed as "100.0%"

Summing up the percentage of running time of each icon in the script may not get 100. This is due to the percentage of time of each execution is shown by cutting to two decimal places.

In case of successful execution

In case of error occurs in execution
If an error occurs during script execution, the icon will appear as X failed mark.

Narrow down execution log

When you select an icon that is displayed in the execution history, you can view the log output during the execution of the icon.

If you are using threading process, you cannot narrow down execution log of each icon when threading process. Log on threading process is associated with all thread icons.

When selecting a script

When selecting an icon

Icon abbreviation

If number of icons that appear in the execution history become large by repeated process, icon will be shown by abbreviation. The maximum number of icons: 100 child node for each icon.

Show icon abbreviation:

Undo/Redo function

Undo by "Undo" and redo by "redo". Refer to "Menu".
Holds the operation history in script unit.The unit is not the editor unit.
If you save, then the operation history is cleared.
Focus will be set on editor in which Undo/Redo is performed.
Undo/Redo targets are as follows
- Create/change/migrate/delete script.
- Operation on script canvas (ex:alocate/migrate/change setting/set flow for icon)
- Operation on Mapper editor (ex: locate/migrate/delete/edit schema/change setting/ set mapping for icons)
- Editing operations on HTML Builder (such as input text/edit scheme)
- Change configuration on Property inspector(ex: script variable/component/Mapper logic)
- Open and close the editor
The following operations are not the target of Undo/Redo.
- Create new/remove project
- Rename Project
- Create new/delete/migrate script.
- Configure script setttings (script name, data proccess method...)
- Create new/delete/move folder
- Set test data
- Create New/delete user-definition logic
- Edit custom logic
- Set global resource (operation to select global resource on adapter is Undo/Redo target)
- Show grid on script canvas (Viewing frid on Mapper canvas is Undo/Redo target.)
- Change screen layout
If you undo the process after you create a script variable in the Project Explorer while the Mapper Editor is open, the [Save project] button on the Toolbar will be invalid.
In that case, set the focus on the script canvas or the script in the Project Explorer to enable the [Save project] button.

About microsecond data

You cannot handle microsecond data for some adapters.

The adapters compatible with micro seconds are as follows.

Specification limit

Designer

Script variables and component variables in the same script must be unique in names.

Projects which open on Designer are not able to be modified on My Project.
Close projects on Designer when you modify the projects on My Project.

Projects which open on Designer are not reflected their permissions.The permissions will be reflected after closing the projects.

If you changed a project name, the name shown in [Service name] when you execute [Register project as service] is as follows:
- The service name (if the service exists)
- The project name (if no service exists)
In a properties settings dialog or the "Add mapping" dialog, the Enter key is not dependent on the selected button or input field. If you press Enter, the existing setting is always applied and the dialog will be closed.

Think about the case you are trying to open a properties settings dialog by double-click. As it takes time, you double-click again to open a dialog.
In that case, you may have multiple dialogs open. If you encounter this situation, proceed properties settings on the very front dialog and close it by clicking [Finish]. For other dialogs left open, you close those by clicking the [Cancel] button.

If a component variable in a component which is not connected with a process flow is set to a property of a component which is connected with a process flow, a script compilation will fail.

In the "Script execution error" dialog which appears only when the script execution is failed, even if you changed the size of the dialog, the vertical length of the error details will be limited only to a certain point.

At debug execution, the process flow to the end icon in a flow process (such as Loop and Conditional Branch) is not highlighted.

If the below events happen, configure [Initialize layout] from [View] in the tool menu.
- Close the designer once while maximizing the script canvas, and open it again, the designer will come up with the each of the flames closed.
- Maximize the execution log or the error details log and get those back to the original size, the layouts collapse./li>

Project explorer

The [Properties] of the right click menu of loading scripts can not be selected.

Execution history

When two or more Call Script operations are executed in a Start Thread operation, tree structure of the Call Script operations is not displayed correctly on the Execution history.

If a Call Script operation which executes a script not opened on the Designer is executed on the Designer, execution information of the Call Script operation is not displayed.

Execution log

Binary type script variables are written as "String" type in the execution log.

Binary type script variables are written to the execution log with the "/0101/0110/1" format.

Generate project/script specifications

In the Write Table operation in the database adapter, if you have not checked [Update rows that match the value of the key], the schema information in [Schema definition] is not output to the specification.

"Name" and "Type" of the component icons without name/type are displayed as blank in the "Component list" in the specification.
- The "component icons without name" are as follows:
  start, end, end loop, end conditional loop, end loop by number of data, end conditional branch, monitor exception, end monitor exception, end thread, end transaction, break, continue, memo, end group
- The "component icons without type" are as follows:
  end loop, end thread, end transaction, end group
The property fields that have only half-width space configured are treated as "not set" in the specification.

Previewer

You can load up to 1MB for previewer.
If you specify a file of more than 1MB, the content from beginning to 1MB will be read.

Selectr

When you select a directory in the file Selectr, the selected directory name is set in input field of file name.

Floating frame

If you set a frame (e.g. a project explorer in the Designer and an execution log) as floating by [Floating], it will be always displayed in front.

If you minimize the size of the Designer with the frame set floating, the floating frame will not be minimized.

Global resource settings

A name of a global resource cannot be modified on the Designer.

Component pool settings cannot be configured on the Designer.
Refer to the "Global Resource Settings" for details about modifying global resource settings.

Script component

If a script is interrupted when a sub script is executing in the script which the Monitor Exception operation checks the sub script in, the interruption will fail.

Adapter

The "x" icons are not shown in required settings in the table properties such as the [Column list / Column name].

The "x" icons might not be shown in required settings such as the [Table name] when you do drag and drop a new operation to the script canvas.

It takes long time to get response from components with a global resource which can not be connected due to invalid configuration.

Notes

Designer

If you execute a script while saving, saving may be failed.
Do not execute while saving a script.

Every time project is registered to server as service, it will consume the metaspace domain that are managed by Java.
Metaspace domain is proportional to the number of script and component in a project registered on a server.
For how to set up metaspace domain, Refer to "Property Reference".

The input value might not be set when you click the [Finish] button with the status which shows input status in the property configuration dialog. Click the [Finish] button after completing input status by pressing enter.

A new line is converted to space when the new line is input to a single line input field.

Project explorer

If you delete a folder or a script variable, the focus is out and saving a project is not possible.
In that case, select the project explorer again to set the focus.

Property inspector

Press enter to complete property settings when values are input to the property settings.

When you show a property inspector of the Monitor Exception operation or the Memo, values you input are not set even if you click the [OK] button.Select other views or the script canvas to complete to input.

Script component

In a flow operation such as the Loop operation or the Conditional Branch operation, the last component icons located between a start icon and an end icon of the operation are connected to the end icon with a process flow internally.
The start icon in the operation is connected to the end with a process flow icon internally as well.If there are no components between the start icon and the end icon, no compilation error will occur.

In the Loop operation, Conditional Loop operation, and Loop by Number of Data, the value of the count component variable is added after each loop.
