Installation by using the installation command
This section explains how to install HULFT by using the installation command (HULSETUP).
(1) Installation command (HULSETUP)
The installation command (HULSETUP) is a tool to make the installation of HULFT simpler.
When you interactively enter information needed for installation, installation JCLs are generated based on the entered information.
Because you can install HULFT by just executing the generated installation JCLs in order, performing the installation procedure is easy.
-
You can only use the installation command for a new installation.
-
When you change the default values of the system file (VSAM) capacity to suit the environment, you must edit the installation JCL that you generated by using the installation command.
An overview of the installation of HULFT by using the installation command is illustrated below.

Figure 3.2 Installation of HULFT by using installation command
1) Restoration of the HULFT load module library
Use the IEBCOPY program to restore the HULFT load module library (HULFT.V8.LOAD) for HULFT installation files restored from the media provided in Procedure for restoration from the provided media to the HULFT load module library (HULFT.LOAD) in the installation destination.
2) Execution of the installation command (HULSETUP) and generation of the installation JCLs
Enter the information necessary for the installation of HULFT in interactive mode.
A JCL is generated for execution of the Installation JCL Generator (XRJCLGEN).
Execute the JCL for execution of the Installation JCL Generator (XRJCLGEN) and generate the installation JCLs to be used for the installation of HULFT.
3) Restoration by executing the installation JCLs
Execute the installation JCLs to restore the HULFT installation files to the library in the installation destination.
For details about the installation procedure when using the installation command, refer to (2) Procedure for the installation by using the installation command.
(2) Procedure for the installation by using the installation command
For an installation by using the installation command, you must perform the following two procedures.
-
Procedure for installation by using the installation command and installation JCLs
-
Procedure for configuring the environment to be used by HULFT
To install HULFT by using the installation command, you must perform both the above procedures.
This section shows the steps of each procedure and the manual references for installing HULFT by using the installation command.

-
When you use HULFT, you must register the product key. If you do not register the product key, HULFT will not run.
-
You can acquire the product key from URL:http://www.hulft.com/.
-
The host name to enter when you acquire a product key is the system name registered in your operating system.
-
In order to run resident programs of multiple HULFT systems within the same system, set the same product key for each.
The next section explains specific procedures to be carried out for the above procedures when you use the installation command.
