Modification of the System Environment Settings file

HULFT provides the System Environment Settings file (HULFT.PARMLIB(HULPRM)) as the member name 'HULPRM' in HULFT parameter library. Modify the fields as required for the user's environment. At the minimum, the fields shown below require modification after installation.

For details about each field in the System Environment Settings, refer to Administration Manual.

[Content for modification in each field]

START-TASK:

Job Name of Send Program

This field specifies the job (PROC) name for running of the Send program (XRSND).

If there is an error in the settings, the Send processing will not be carried out successfully.

UNIT:

UNIT Name of Send Work Files

This field specifies the unit group name of the Send work file. If this field is omitted, 'SYSDA' is set.

PORTNO:

Receive Port No.

This field specifies the port number for the Receive program (XRRCV).

HOST-NAME:

Local Host Name

This field specifies the local host name that is announced to remote machines.

For the Send processing and the Receive processing of HULFT, the local host name set for this field is sent to remote machines as the host name for Mainframe side.

DOMAIN:

Local Domain Name

This field specifies the local host name (domain name) that is announced to remote machines.

For the Send processing and the Receive processing of HULFT, the local host name (domain name) set for this field is sent to remote machines as the host name (domain name) for Mainframe side.

Specify this field if you intend to specify a local host name of 9 bytes or more.

PREFIX:

First Modifier of Send Work Files

This field specifies the first modifier of Send work files allocated dynamically by HULFT. If this field is omitted, 'XR' is set as the first modifier.

The format for the Send work file name is as follows:

' XR.H.Yxx.Mxxxx.Txxxx.Txxxx.xxxxxxxx '

RPREFIX:

First Modifier of Receive Work Files

This field specifies the first modifier of Receive work files for the Multiple Receive. If this field is omitted, 'XRM' is set as the first modifier.

The format for the Receive work file name is as follows:

' XRM.Rxxxxxxx.Gxxxxxxx '

INIT-UNIT:

UNIT Name of Send Files and Receive Files

This field specifies the unit group name of the Send file and the Receive file. If this field is omitted, 'SYSDA' is set.

TCPIP:

Address Space Name of TCP/IP

This field specifies the address space name where Communications Server resides.

The startup PROC name for Communications Server is the address space name.

If there is an error in this setting, HULFT system will not start successfully.

SERIALNO:

Serial Number

This field specifies the serial number (13 digits, excluding hyphens) for HULFT products.

Refer to Registration of the Serial Number.

PRODUCTKEY:

Product Key

This field specifies the Product Key (25 digits, excluding hyphens) for HULFT Products.

Refer to Registration of the product key.

SND-SEQNO-THRESHOLD:

Send SEQ No. Threshold

This field specifies a threshold for resetting the Send SEQ No.

RESND-QUELISTNO-THRESHOLD:

Resend Queue List No. Threshold

This field specifies a threshold for resetting the Resend Queue List No.

HULCHARSET:

HULFT Character Set

This field specifies the CCSID value of the emulator in use.

CS4TRNSFR:

Code Set for Transfer

This field specifies the code set that HULFT uses for file transfers.

CONTROL-FILE:

System Control File

The system control file is a file that HULFT uses internally.

Specify the data set name of the system control file.

INSTTRANSCMDQUE:

Send Control File to Issue Instant Transfer

Specify the send control file name.

Note
  • Beginning with HULFT Ver.7, Framed Message Transfer Type (PROCTRANSTYPE) was added to the System Environment Settings. For details about the Framed Message Transfer Type, refer to Administration Manual.

    The default value for Framed Message Transfer Type (PROCTRANSTYPE) when HULFT is installed is set as that for operation in Transfer Speed Priority mode.

    PROCTRANSTYPE=A

    If you operate HULFT with the default values, the transfer mode will be different from that of HULFT Ver.6. To use the same transfer mode as HULFT Ver.6 without using Transfer Speed Priority mode, set Framed Message Transfer Type as that for operation in Error Detection Priority mode. The setting method is shown below.

    PROCTRANSTYPE=N

  • Beginning with HULFT Ver.8, Console Message Output Option (CNSSELECT) was added to the System Environment Settings. For details about the Console Message Output Option, refer to Administration Manual.

    The default value for Console Message Output Option (CNSSELECT) when HULFT is installed is set as that for output of conventional messages.

    CNSSELECT=0

    If you operate HULFT with the default values, up to 8 bytes of the IDs are displayed in console messages.

    To output IDs in the enhanced format of up to 50 bytes, set Console Message Output Option to operate in the Enhanced Message mode.

    The setting method is shown below.

    CNSSELECT=1

  • If you want to use HULFT in Japanese, specify 'JPN' (Japanese) for HULFT Operation Language (HULLANG). Otherwise, specify 'ENG' (English).

  • Beginning with HULFT Ver.8, Indicator Options for Environment Variable (INDOPTVAR) was added to the System Environment Settings.

    For details on this field, refer to Administration Manual.

    The value for Indicator Options for Environment Variable (INDOPTVAR) when HULFT is installed is set as shown below, and HULFT operates with '0' (0xE0) (default value):

    INDOPTVAR=0

    However, because the display of the indicator '0xE0' differs depending on the CCSID value of the emulator in use, specification of '1' (0x50 (&)) is recommended.

    In order to set '1' (0x50 (&)), specify the value for the field as shown below:

    INDOPTVAR=1
