DataSpider Studio for Web

DataSpider Studio for Web (Hereinafter referred to as: Studio for Web) is an integrated development environment that can be used from a web browser. It offers various tools of DataSpiderServista for the service development and operation settings.

Execution environment of Studio for Web

The following execution environment is necessary for using Studio for Web. Install it before starting Studio for Web for the first time.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
- Download .NET Framework from Microsoft download page.
StudioLauncher
- Download StudioLauncher installation file from the following URL.
  - http://<Hostname or IP address of OS on which DataSpiderServer is operating>:<Port number of DataSpiderServer>/WebStudio/StudioLauncherSetup.exe

Launching Studio for Web

Access the following URL from web browser.
- http://<Hostname or IP address of OS on which DataSpiderServer is operating>:<Port number of DataSpiderServer>/WebStudio/
You can also open the launch screen by selecting “DataSpider Studio for Web” from Windows Start menu if it is a Windows environment where DataSpider Servista is installed.
Launch Studio for Web by clicking on [Launch Studio for Web] button.

Logging in to Studio for Web

When you launch Studio for Web, the following login screen is displayed.

Enter user name and password in the corresponding fields and click [Login] to login.

Description of items

Item name	Required/Optional	Description
User	required	Specify a user name to log in to your DataSpiderServer account.
Password	required	Password to authenticate the user with DataSpiderServer.
Language	required	Select the language used in Studio for Web.

Initial password for the root user is configured during the installation process.

Start page

Start page will be displayed after successful login.
Selecting icons displayed in start page, user can access the tools that Studio for Web provides.

Provided in the left top of the screen is the following information.
“<logged in user name> <The

icon to show whether the Repository DB is in use or not>”

Launching tools

By clicking the icons show below, user can access their corresponding tools Studio provides.

Description of tools

	Create Project	Creates a new project.
	Open Project	Open the selected project in Designer.
	Recent Projects	Projects to be opened can be selected from the list of the most recently used projects.
	Version Info	Provides version information of different components available in DataSpider.
	Logout	User is logged out from Studio for Web.
	Designer	Used to create scripts.
	My Projects	Projects to be opened can be selected from the list of the most recently used projects.
	My Triggers	A list of triggers available to the logged in user is displayed in My Triggers. Triggers can also be edited and deleted.
	My Logs	Using My Logs, user can view the record of script execution histories filtered by criteria specified.
	My Services	Services registered with the server can be managed using My Services.
	Explorer	Use to operate, refer and edit files and directories on DataSpider file system.
	Control Panel	Control Panel allows users to view and manipulate DataSpiderServer system settings and controls.

Sessions in the Studio for Web

If you login to the Studio for Web and do not operate for a certain period, the session will time out in 30 minutes. The session is counted from the point you sent a request for data or a process to the server.
When the session times out, a message appears in the Studio for Web screen and goes back to the login screen.

Unsaved changes such as modification to the script will be destroyed.

If a script is still in process when it is timed out, the script execution will be continued even if a message appears to let you know the session is timeout.

Automatic Saving Function in a Project

While editing a project in the designer and if you leave for a certain period of time, the project will be automatically saved in the backup area.
Automatically saving starts in 15 minutes from the time you last operate by default. You can set the time length between 10 - 25 minutes.

Settings are available from the tool menu in the Designer.

If the project is automatically saved, the system confirms you to open the saved project the next time you open it.

If you select [Yes], the project automatically saved in the backup area will open. If you select [No], the project saved in the server will open.

The automatically saved project will be deleted in the following operations (only when a project is automatically saved).

Save a project
Delete a project
Rename a project
Close the Designer while a project is open
Share project
Unlock shared project

Undo/Redo function in Designer

“Undo” to cancel the last operation, and “Redo” to re-execute the operation you canceled with “Undo”. Refer to “Menu” in the Designer help page as well.
The operation history is maintained by project.
For example, if you make a change in Script A and then display Script B, “Undo” cancels the change made in Script A.
If you save, restore, or overwrite a project or script, the operation history of that project is cleared.
If you Undo/Redo an operation in an editor, the focus is set to the editor.
You can Undo/Redo the following operations:
- Script: create new/change settings/move/delete
- Folder: create new/rename/move/delete
- Script variable: create new/modify/move/delete
- Operations in the script canvas (icon: align/move/delete/change settings/set flow, show grid, etc.)
- Operations in Mapper editor (icon: align/move/delete/edit schema/change settings/set mapping, show grid, etc.)
- Settings in property inspector (components): change
- Local custom logic: create new/modify/delete
- Local custom group: create new/modify/delete
- Global schema: load/unlink
You cannot Undo/Redo the following operations:
- Project: create new/delete
- Project name: change
- Screen layout: change
- Expanded memo: resize
- Global schema: register
If a selected object is deleted due to Undo of the create operation or Redo of the delete operation in the project explorer, the [Save] button in the tool bar will be disabled, and you will not be able to save.
In this case, you can enable the [Save] button by switching editors or setting the focus to the tree in the project explorer.

Logging out from Studio for Web

To log out from Studio for Web, click [Logout] icon in the menu.
Clicking [OK] button in the confirmation dialog will log you out.

Ending Studio for Web

By closing the window, you can exit from Studio for Web.

Specification limit

If data which includes newlines is pasted in the input field of a single row, only data before the first newline will be pasted. However, for input fields where the characters become hidden such as password fields, newlines are converted to single-byte spaces and the entire string is pasted in the field.

Notice

In Studio for Web launch screen, localStorage of DOM Storage is used. Enable DOM Storage function of Web browser.
[Correspond][Does not correspond] filter towards columns of date and time data might not activate as supposed. Refine using filters such as [Larger][Smaller][More][Less].
