Saison Technology Launches HULFT10 for Red Hat OpenShift
~ Achieving data integration in an ideal container environment for modernization of legacy systems ~
Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as "Saison Technology") will release HULFT10 for Container Platform, managed file transfer middleware that supports Red Hat OpenShift, on March 5, 2025.
This product is the first major upgrade of HULFT in 10 years, following the Amazon ECS-compliant version launched in February 2024 and the Windows, Linux, AIX, IBMi, and zOS-compliant version launched in December of the same year. As an operator certified by Red Hat OpenShift Certification*1, HULFT 10 can be run in Kubernetes container platform environments, such as in-house built infrastructure, on-premise environments provided by Red Hat's domestic partners, and fully managed services provided by major overseas cloud providers.
Background
In recent years, there has been an increasing trend toward modernizing aging systems that have supported corporate information systems for years by migrating to modern infrastructures such as cloud platforms. As a modernization method, container environments are also becoming more popular, as they are more lightweight than conventional virtualization environments and allow applications to be launched more quickly.
On the other hand, it is important to minimize the impact of migration to a modern infrastructure on the operations running on the existing systems. The data integration between the migrated modern systems and mission-critical systems such as mainframes and off-computers, and peripheral systems such as SaaS, must be possible not only on existing platforms such as Windows and Linux but also in a container environment.
HULFT10, which is based on the concept of connecting across all IT system boundaries, now supports Red Hat OpenShift, a container orchestration platform for enterprises, to provide strong support for the modernization of legacy systems in a hybrid environment centered on a container infrastructure.
Overview of HULFT10 for Container Platform
HULFT10 for Container Platform is an operator certified by Red Hat OpenShift Certification*1 and can be deployed in a container environment with the same functions as the HULFT10 series.
It consists of a management container and a transfer container. Management container manages management information and history, and provides a web screen for managing job linkage via API and control of transfer containers. Transfer container executes data integration based on file transfer by HULFT and can be used in a configuration where multiple transfer containers are placed under a single management container.
The features of HULFT10 for Container Platform are as follows.
- Ensures service availability and business continuity by automatically starting transfer containers according to transfer load and restarting them in case of failure
- Web API can be called before and after file transfer, allowing automatic integration with external services and business applications
- Management information and history are stored in a persistent area independent of the container, which is highly fault-tolerant and allows for easy transfer between containers and backup
