System Environment Setup

After installing HULFT, you can set up the system environment as needed.

For details on each field of the System Environment Settings, refer to Administration Manual.

For details on the procedure for updating the System Environment Settings, refer to Operation Manual.

For details on the clustering settings, refer to Windows Clustering Manual.

(1) Encryption Scheme

To use HULFT Cipher Options, you must set Encryption Scheme (ciphertype) to 'Other Encryption Scheme (1)' in the System Environment Settings.

If you execute New Installation or Update Installation, this is automatically set.

If you add or change HULFT Cipher Options by updating the Product Key, this setting is not automatically changed. Therefore, you must check the setting for Encryption Scheme (ciphertype) in the System Environment Settings. For details, refer to Procedure when using HULFT Cipher Options.

(2) Forced Strong Key mode

When you use Forced Strong Key mode, you must set "Enabled (1)" for Forced Strong Key Mode (strongkeymode) in the System Environment Settings. The default value for Forced Strong Key mode differs depending on the installation type. Change the setting value after installation if necessary.

After performing a New Installation, "Disabled (0)" is set for Forced Strong Key Mode (strongkeymode) in the System Environment Settings.

For details, refer to Preparation before using Forced Strong Key mode.

Note

The validity of cipher key differs depending on the value set for Forced Strong Key mode (enabled or disabled). We do not recommend to change Forced Strong Key mode in the middle of operations because communication might be affected incorrectly.

(3) HULFT Script Port No.

If you perform a New Installation with a product key that includes HULFT Script and one of the following products is used, set HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) to the appropriate port number in the System Environment Settings.

  • HULFT8 Script Option for Windows

  • DataSpider Servista

If neither of the above is installed and a port number is set for HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) in the System Environment Settings, a warning message is output in the console log for every transfer.

In this case, delete the value of HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) in the System Environment Settings using the HULFT Management Console.

Even if you add HULFT Script Option by updating the product key, the value of HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) is not automatically changed in the System Environment Settings. When you add HULFT Script Option, set HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) to the appropriate port number in the System Environment Settings.

For details, refer to Procedure when using HULFT Script Option.
