Version upgrade from a non clustering environment to a clustering environment
You can upgrade the version of HULFT for a non clustering environment to the version of HULFT for a clustering environment and establish a clustering system. Carry out the installation on the ACTIVE node and the STANDBY node for HULFT in the clustering system. The procedure is as follows:

Figure 10.1 Version Upgrade to Clustering Environment
1) Carry out Update Installation on the ACTIVE node.
2) Carry out Update Installation on the STANDBY node.
Install the program by following the steps described in Custom installation. In the steps, select the following options when asked:
-
Selecting the Installation Type
'Update Installation'
-
Confirming the installation environment
-
Select 'Clustering Environment (ACTIVE node)' to install HULFT on the ACTIVE node
-
Select 'Clustering Environment (STANDBY node)' to install HULFT on the STANDBY node
-
When upgrading versions, the file format may be changed due to the addition of certain functions or due to changes to certain functions.
The setup program carries out conversion of log files and management information files.
For this operation, extra free disk space that is equivalent to the disk space used by the existing HULFT is required. Check how the partition is set up beforehand with the 'df' command.
When you use HULFT in a clustering environment, HULFT must support clustering functions. For details, refer to Clustering environments.
