Forced Strong Key mode

HULFT

8.4.0

Forced Strong Key mode is now added to the System Environment Settings.

In HULFT lower than Ver.8.4.0, if the encryption scheme differs between the sending-side host and the receiving-side host, HULFT uses an encryption scheme that can be used on both hosts.

In HULFT Ver.8.4.0 or higher, setting the Forced Strong Key mode in the System Environment Settings to "Enabled" makes the communication more secure.

If Forced Strong Key mode is enabled, HULFT requires and behaves as follows:

  • Connection is possible only between hosts on which Forced Strong Key mode is enabled

  • Only "AES" is selectable as the encryption scheme. Note that HULFT8 Cipher Option (AES) must be installed beforehand

  • Cipher key is extended to 64 digits (and you must specify the full 64 digits)

When you attempt to make a connection between a host on which Forced Strong Key mode is enabled and a host on which it is disabled or HULFT of a version lower than Ver.8.4.0 is installed, a communication error occurs.

To make a connection with a host on which Forced Strong Key mode is disabled or HULFT of a version lower than Ver.8.4.0 is installed, disable Forced Strong Key mode in advance.

Additionally, when Forced Strong Key mode is enabled, there are limitations on connecting from the following products:

  • Lower than HULFT Manager Ver.8.4.0

  • Lower than HULFT-HUB Ver.3.9.0

For details on the limitations, refer to the following:

Note

When Forced Strong Key mode is enabled, instant transfer cannot be performed.

For details, refer to Administration Manual.
