Observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts
You can specify, for each type of service, whether the Observe system refuses service requests issued from hosts that are registered in the Host Information.
This function is collectively called "the observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts." The observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts allow operations in which the Observe system accepts requests only for specific services and refuses requests for other services.
The observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts are applied to the services shown below:
-
Send Request (SEND)
-
Resend Request (RESEND)
-
Post-receive Job Result Inquiry Request (HULJOB)
-
Job Execution Result Notification (HULSNDRC)
-
Remote Job Execution (HULRJOB)
To refuse requests for specific services from registered hosts, specify "N" (No) for the following fields in the Host Information. For details on the Host Information, refer to the following:
HULFT10 for zOS Operation Manual :
-
Allow Send Request/Resend Request (SENDPERMIT)
-
Allow to View Post-receive Job Result (HULJOBPERMIT)
-
Allow to Notify Job Result (HULSNDRCPERMIT)
-
Allow to Execute Remote Job (HULRJOBPERMIT)
During system operation, HULFT refuses requests for services that are specified as 'N' in the Host Information, and handles the requests as an error. In the example shown in Figure 2.44 , HULFT refuses service requests, the Remote Job Execution (HULRJOB) and the Post-receive Job Result Inquiry Request (HULJOB).
The observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts also applies to service requests from a requestor host that runs a HULFT version lower than Ver.7.
