Selecting the Code Set for Transfer

Specify the type of the code set for the file that HULFT transfers.

Use the up arrow key and the down arrow key to move the cursor to the code set to be used and then press the Space key. An asterisk (*) is displayed for the selected option. After selecting a date format, press the TAB key to place the cursor on 'NEXT' and then press the Enter key.

HULFT uses the code set that you select here as the default value of Code Set for Transfer (cs4trnsfr) in the System Environment Settings.

 Selecting a Code Set For Transfer

 Select a code set for transfer that you want to use in HULFT.
 Move the cursor, and select an option with the spacebar key.

The screen that appears next varies depending on the selected Installation Type.

 

When all of the following conditions are met, the screen for selecting the output method of the trace log appears. Proceed to Selection of the output method of the trace log.

  • An Update Installation is performed for HULFT version lower than 8.4.0

  • The setting value of Trace Output Mode (tlogmode) is not "0" in the System Environment Settings for HULFT before the update.

  • The value that is set for Code Set for Transfer must correspond to the system locale that you have specified in Preparing to start the setup program.

    Therefore, specify a value for Code Set for Transfer that corresponds to the system locale.

  • In an update operation, you can change the Code Set for Transfer only when the changed Code Set for Transfer is as follows:

    • UTF-8

    • GB18030

    If the management information or a log file to be converted contains any characters that HULFT does not support, HULFT may convert the characters to unexpected data or the conversion may end unsuccessfully.

    The characters that HULFT supports by default vary depending on the language and the code set that are used in HULFT. For details on the characters that HULFT supports by default, refer to the following:
