Management Information Registration

For HULFT, you must specify the same File ID on the host on the sending side and the host on the receiving side. For File ID, specify a string of alphanumeric characters (and "_" if desired) that is within 50 bytes. HULFT carries out file transfer based on the management information related to the File ID.

For a single file, you need to register the same File ID for Send Management Information of the host on the sending side as for Receive Management Information of the host on the receiving side.

Besides the File ID, you also need to register other management information. This information is also managed through their respective IDs. The minimum management information needed on the host on the sending side and the host on the receiving side for a file transfer is described below. For details on the management information that is necessary for file transfer, refer to the following:

HULFT10 for Linux/AIX Operation Manual : Settings of management information

Sending side HULFT

Send Management Information (Send file ID)

Host Information (host name of receiving side)

Transfer Group Information (Transfer Group ID)

Receiving side HULFT

Receive Management Information (Receive file ID)

Host Information (host name of sending side)

Transfer Group Information (Transfer Group ID)

In a communication test, a file transfer takes place within one HULFT system on one machine. Therefore, you need to register the relevant information.

The sections listed below in chronological order describe the information that you need to register. Use the following IDs for each section.

Note

Although the local host name of the machine is given as 'host01' in this document, use a name suitable to your environment.

In this section, we register the information by using the System Configuration screen of the HULFT Management Console.

For details of the startup and operation of the HULFT Management Console, refer to System Environment Settings for HULFT.
