Preparation before using Forced Strong Key mode
When you use Forced Strong Key mode, the following conditions must be met:
-
HULFT Cipher Option (AES) is installed, and Encryption Scheme (CIPHERTYPE) in the System Environment Settings is set to "1" (Other Encryption Scheme).
-
Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings is set to "1" (Enabled).
When you perform a product key update, Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings is not changed. Therefore, HULFT becomes unstartable if Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings is set to "1" (Enabled) and you update HULFT by a product key that does not contain a HULFT Cipher Option (AES) license.
If you changed between with and without HULFT Cipher Option in a product key update, set Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings to the value suitable to your environment after the update.
When you use Forced Strong Key mode
-
Check the setting value of Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings.
If "0" (Disabled) is set, change it to "1" (Enabled).
-
After confirming the settings, reboot HULFT.
When you do not use Forced Strong Key mode
-
Check the setting value of Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings.
If "1" (Enabled) is set, change it to "0" (Disabled).
-
After confirming the settings, reboot HULFT.
HULFT cannot be started if you set Forced Strong Key mode (STRONGKEYMODE) in the System Environment Settings to "1" (Enabled) without installing HULFT Cipher Option (AES).
