Role of the Receive Task Queue

The following figure shows how files are distributed by Manager.

Figure 2.8 How files are distributed by Manager

1. A file is uploaded to the environment in which Manager is installed that will be distributed to IoT equipment according to the reception settings of the relevant profile.

2. Manager registers a task in the Receive Task Queue of all Agents that share the reception settings.

3. Agent checks its Receive Task Queue at a frequency defined by [Receive Queue Polling Interval], which is specified on the Agent Operation Settings screen.

4. If a task is registered in the Receive Task Queue, Agent receives a file from an application server and stores the file in the specified directory.

5. Agent executes a job after it receives a file successfully.

6. Agent sends a completion report for a task to Manager, regardless of whether the receive processing and job execution ended successfully.

7. After receiving the completion report from Agent, Manager deletes the task from the Receive Task Queue of Agent.

8. When all tasks for receiving the file have been cleared, Manager deletes the uploaded file from the environment in which Manager is installed.

= Remarks =
  • The maximum number of tasks that can be registered in the Receive Task Queue can be configured in [Size of Receive Task Queue] on the Agent Operation Settings screen.
  • If the number of tasks registered in the Receive Task Queue has reached the maximum defined by [Size of Receive Task Queue], you cannot add a new task to the Recieve Task Queue
  • You can delete tasks from the Receive Task Queue that Agent has not yet executed.
