Updating Manager (in Windows)

Perform the following procedure as a user who has administrative privileges:

1. Deploy Manager modules

Perform the deployment of the Manager module.

For details about how to deploy the Manager module, see Deploying Manager modules.

Read the "working folder for installation" written in Deploying Manager modules as the "working folder for an update".

2. Stop Manager.

Stop Manager. For details about how to stop Manager, see Stopping Manager (in Windows).

3. Stop PostgreSQL.

Stop PostgreSQL. For details about how to stop PostgreSQL, see Stopping PostgreSQL (in Windows).

4. Stop HULFT.

Stop HULFT. For details about how to stop HULFT, see Stopping HULFT (in Windows).

5. Create the backups.

Create the backups of Manager and PostgreSQL. See Backing up and restoring Manager (in Windows).

6. Execute Install.exe file.

Execute the Install.exe file that is deployed in the working folder for an update. The setup screen appears.

7. Click [Options].

If the update target product is not installed in the default installation folder (C:\HULFT Family\hulftiot-manager), specify the installation folder.

    + hulft   (installation folder of HULFT)
    + manager (installation folder of Manager)

8. Click [OK].

Go back to the setup screen.

9. Input Serial Number, Product Key, and Term License Key on the setup screen.

Serial Number:

Specify the serial number of Manager by using numerals with a maximum of 13 bytes in length.

Product Key:

Specify the product key of Manager by using alphanumeric characters with a maximum of 25 bytes in length.

Term License Key:

Specify the term license key of Manager by using alphanumeric characters with a maximum of 25 bytes in length. A term license key is not necessary for a trial version.

10. Click [Install].

Installation is started after the screen that indicates the progress of the installation appears.

When the installation finishes, a message appears.

11. Click [Close].

12. Confirm services.

When the installation is successfully completed, Manager and HULFT are registered in the Windows services and start automatically. Open [Services] in Windows and confirm that the following services have started.

  • Manager service: HULFT IoT Manager
  • HULFT service: HULFT(HULFT IoT Manager)

Update of Manager in Windows is now complete. You can delete the working folder for an update.
