Level upgrade of HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming

HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming consists of the following two components:

Development environment

EdgeStreaming Studio

Execution environment

EdgeStreaming Runtime

 

This section describes the level upgrade procedures for both EdgeStreaming Studio and EdgeStreaming Runtime.

The currently used HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming is indicated as "old level," and HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming after the level upgrade is indicated as "new level."

 

Description of levels

The products corresponding to old levels are as follows:

  • HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming from Ver.2.0.x to Ver.2.2.x

The product corresponding to the new level is as follows:

  • HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Ver.2.3.x

 

Notes regarding level upgrade (common to Studio and Runtime)

The notes described below apply when you perform a level upgrade.

These notes are common to "EdgeStreaming Studio" and "EdgeStreaming Runtime."

 

Compatibility between levels

HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming supports level upgrades to higher levels only.

Level downgrades to lower levels are not supported.

 

Correction details and specification changes for each level

The correction details and specification changes for each level are described in the release notes.

Be sure to read the release notes before performing a level upgrade.

 

Compatibility with HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Plugin SDK

EdgeStreaming Runtime for HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Ver.2.3.0 is not compatible with plugins built with HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Plugin SDK Ver.2.3.0.

Therefore, to use a plugin built with HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Plugin SDK Ver.2.3.0 or earlier in HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Ver.2.3.0, build it again with HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming Plugin SDK Ver.2.3.0.
