Method of license file update

(1) License file update

A license file update changes the HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming product information or extends the usage period of the product without installing the product modules.

A license file update is required in the following cases:

  • Update of the product information

    • Switching over from the Trial version to the Product version

    • Adding or deleting each optional adapter for HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming

  • Extension of the usage period

    • Extending the usage period for the product version

 

 

(2) Preparations before a license file update

Before updating the license file, terminate EdgeStreaming Studio.

Do not start EdgeStreaming Studio while updating the license file.

License file update may not be completed successfully if EdgeStreaming Studio is running.

 

 

(3) License file update procedure

 

The procedure for license file update is as follows:

  1. Terminate EdgeStreaming Studio.

  2. Move to the $EDGESTREAMING_HOME\server\lic folder.

  3. Find the old license.lic file in the lic folder and create a backup in an appropriate folder.

  4. Delete the old license.lic file in the lic folder.

  5. Place the new license.lic file in the lic folder.

  6. Start EdgeStreaming Studio.

 

= Remarks =

After the license file update is complete, you can delete the backup of the old License.lic file.

 

The license file update of HULFT IoT EdgeStreaming is now complete.
