Modbus TCP connection settings

Configure the Modbus TCP connection settings.

Note

The following types of operations use the same Modbus TCP connection settings:

  • Read coil operation

  • Read input status operation

  • Read input registers operation

  • Read holding registers operation

  • Write coil operation

  • Write holding registers operation

It is not necessary to create Modbus TCP connection settings for each component.

To open the settings screen, click Add in the Resource list of the Edit resource list screen.

You can also open the screen by opening the pulldown list of Destination and clicking Add on the following screens:

  • Read coil operation screen

  • Read input status operation screen

  • Read input registers operation screen

  • Read holding registers operation screen

  • Write coil operation screen

  • Write holding registers operation screen

This section explains each of the fields to configure on the Modbus TCP connection settings screen.

After changing these settings, click Finish to save the settings.

Click Cancel to discard the changes.

Name

Resource name for Modbus TCP connection settings

Single-byte alphanumeric characters and "_" (underscore) can be used.

Use a value that begins with a single-byte alphabetic character.

Required settings

Host

Host name

Specify the host name of the Modbus TCP destination.

Port

Port number

Specify a number from "1" through "65535" for the port number of the Modbus TCP destination.

Timeout

Timeout (seconds)

Specify a number from "1" through "2147483646" for the timeout value when connecting to Modbus TCP.

Data-holding format

Data-holding format

Select from the following data-holding formats for the Modbus TCP destination.

  • Little-endian

  • Big-endian

  • Little-endian byte swap

  • Big-endian byte swap
