Supported versions

Microsoft Office Excel

2021/2019/2016/2013

Excel workbooks and Excel 2003 workbooks that are created in Excel 2021/2019/2016/2013 are supported.
2010/2007/2003

Files that are created in Excel 2010/2007/2003 are no longer supported, and the Excel connector that supports such files is no longer sold.

Terms

The following terms are used in the Excel connector:

Term	Description
Excel file	This refers to an Excel workbook or Excel 2003 workbook.
Excel workbook	This refers to a workbook with the .xlsx or .xlsm extension that is created in Excel 2021/2019/2016/2013. However, workbooks that are saved in Strict Open XML spreadsheet format aren't included.
Excel 2003 workbook	This refers to a workbook with the .xls extension that is created in Excel 2021/2019/2016/2013.
