Table C.1 Issues Related to Send Processing

Trouble

Measures

Unable to start the Send program (XRSND).

  • Has Communications Server been started?

  • Has the Send program (XRSND) already been started?

Unable to carry out the Send processing.

  • Has the Send program (XRSND) been started?

  • Has the Receive program (XRRCV) been started on the remote host?

  • Is the Host Information correct?

  • Is the Receive Port No. (RCVPORT) of the remote host correct?

  • Is the registration of the remote host correct in the settings of the IP Management file (HULFT.HOSTS.LOCAL)?

  • Is the remote host connected physically to the LAN (WAN)?

  • Is the data set name that you registered in the Send Management Information correct?

  • Did you enclose the data set name that you registered in the Send Management Information within literal marks?

  • Is the serial number of the volume in which HULFT creates the work files registered correctly?

  • Did you specify a sufficient work file capacity?

  • Is HULFT currently carrying out the Send processing for the Send file with the specified File ID?

  • Are the settings of routers correct?

  • Has the Pre-send Job ended successfully?

  • Is the Send and Receive Log file (HULFT.LOG) closed due to an error that occurred during the execution of the Send and Receive Log File Reorganization program (XRREORG)?

-> Submit the Send and Receive Log File Open command.

Unable to carry out format transfer.

  • Is the content correct in the Multi/Format ID in the Send Management information?

  • Does the length of the Multi/Format ID exceed the record length of the Send file?

Unable to carry out the Send processing due to an error on the host on the receiving side.

  • An error has occurred on the host on the receiving side. Check the host on the receiving side.

The transfer remains on the Send Queue.

  • Is the Job Name of Send Program (START-TASK) correct in the System Environment Settings?

  • Has the Send program (XRSND) been started?

  • Are all Send Subtasks in sending status?

Unable to output the Send Log records.

  • Is the Send and Receive Log file (HULFT.LOG) full?

-> Delete log records and execute the Send and Receive Log File Reorganization program (XRREORG).

  • Is the Send and Receive Log file (HULFT.LOG) closed due to an error that occurred during the execution of the Send and Receive Log File Reorganization program (XRREORG)?

-> Submit the Send and Receive Log File Open command.

Unable to cancel the Send processing for files on tape volumes.

  • You cannot cancel the Send processing with the normal method when a deferred mount request is issued.

-> Cancel the Send processing by running the Send Cancelation command with ABSTP specified.

  • If a message about a response request for the tape media (MT) mount (IEF455D) appears on the console, cancel the processing by running the REPLY command.

Despite being able to send to the other hosts, when sending to a particular host whose Send Process Multiplex Level by Host is specified as 1 or higher is attempted, Send processing does not start, and the processing remains in the Send Queue.

  • Are you attempting to start the same number of instances of the Send processing as the number specified for the Send Process Multiplex Level by Host?

  • In an environment where HULFT Ver.8.4.0 or later is used, have you ever for some reason forcibly ended the Send program (XRSND)?

If so, execute the Send Process Multiplex Level by Host Consumption Recovery program (XRHSMVFY) to check whether the Send Process Multiplex Level by Host is stuck in a consumed state.

For details, refer to Recovery of the Send Process Multiplex Level by Host from a consumed state.
