Receive Completion Notification
The host on the sending side is notified that the Receive processing has been completed on the host on the receiving side. This function is called 'Receive Completion Notification.'
The timing at which the two types of Receive Completion Notification are sent is as follows:
-
'Receive Completion,' where notification is sent when all data has been received
-
'Successful Job Completion,' where notification is sent when the Post-receive Job is complete
Specify the timing of Receive Completion Notification with the Notification (RCVEND-NOTICE) in the Receive Management Information.
If the Receive processing ends unsuccessfully, the Receive system notifies the host on the sending side of completion of the processing at that point when the Receive processing has ended unsuccessfully, regardless of the specification for the Receive Completion Notification.
(1) Receive Completion
To specify for the host on the receiving side to notify the host on the sending side of receive completion immediately after the Receive system has received all data but before the Post-receive Job is executed, specify 'T' (Receive Completion) for the Notification. If you specify the Post-receive Job, the notification of receive completion is sent to the host on the sending side regardless of the status of the Post-receive job.

(2) Successful Job Completion
To specify for the host on the receiving side to notify the host on the sending side of receive completion after the Post-receive Job that is specified for the Successful Job ID in the Receive Management Information is complete, specify 'J' (Successful Job Completion) for the Notification. If the Post-receive Job ends unsuccessfully, the host on the sending side will be notified of the unsuccessful end. If the amount of time that the Post-receive Job is in progress exceeds the time specified for the job execution time-out for the Post-receive Job specified in the Receive program (XRRCV) execution parameters, the host on the sending side is notified of the unsuccessful end at that point.
