Start HULFT. For details on the startup method of HULFT, refer to Startup of HULFT.

After you start up HULFT, confirm that the version upgrade has been successful.

To view the version information of HULFT, use the following procedure:

  1. Select Help > Version Information on the HULFT Management Console.

    The Version Information dialog box appears.

  2. Verify the version information of the HULFT instance that is currently running.

Also, check if the converted management information and log files are displayed correctly.

If they are not displayed properly, contact us.

Note
  • Information of the previous version of HULFT remains in Uninstall a program in Control Panel (or Programs and Features, depending on your screen display setting). Deleting the information in Control Panel may cause the new version of HULFT to operate improperly.

  • Carrying out the version upgrade always sets Use HULFT7 Comm. Mode (HUL7MODE) in the Host Information to 'Yes' (Y). When you carry out the version upgrade to HULFT8 on the remote host, be sure to change the setting to 'No' (N).

  • Carrying out the version upgrade always sets Date Format (datefmt) in the System Environment Settings to '2' (MM/DD/YYYY). To use a different date format, change the setting.

  • We recommend that you set the default value "0" for the following fields in HULFT8. However, when you perform a version upgrade, the field values in the environment before the migration will be inherited.

    • Socket Buffer Size for Data Sending (sndsocksize) in the System Environment Settings

    • Socket Buffer Size for Data Receiving (rcvsocksize) in the System Environment Settings

    • Transfer Block Length (BLOCKLEN) in the Send Management Information

    • Transfer Block Count (BLOCKCNT) in the Send Management Information

    After a version upgrade, change the values as needed.

  • The setting of Request Acknowledge Host Check (obshstchk) on a HULFT version that is lower than HULFT Ver.8.4.0 will be inherited to multiple fields in the System Environment Settings of HULFT Ver.8.4.0 or higher.

    • Allow Send/Resend Request from Unregistered Host (allowsndreq)

    • Allow Post-receive Job Result Inquiry from Unregistered Host (allowpostrjobrslt)

    • Allow Job Result Notification Request from Unregistered Host (allowjobrsltntfy)

    • Allow Remote Job Execution Request from Unregistered Host (allowrmtjobexe)

    After a version upgrade, check the values in each fields and change the value as needed. For details on each field of the System Environment Settings, refer to Administration Manual.

  • For details on how to specify Forced Strong Key mode, refer to Preparation before using Forced Strong Key mode.

  • If you perform an Update Installation with a product key that includes HULFT Script and one of the following products is used, set HULFT Script Port No. (hsport) to the appropriate port number in the System Environment Settings.
