Prerequisites
The prerequisites required to use networked files in an environment with HULFT8 Server grade installed are explained below.
The file server supports SMB or CIFS
The file server that stores networked files must support SMB or CIFS Windows file sharing protocol.
Exclusive control by locking the byte range is available
HULFT networked file locking acquires a lock on a byte range for networked files and applies exclusive control.
Therefore, the file server must be able to lock a byte range, and apply exclusive control even if different file sharing protocols are used on the file server.
The account has access permissions on target files and paths
The account that operates HULFT must have the permission to modify target networked files and their paths, in addition to the folder that is specified for Path to Location for Cross-Product Sharing (hulsharepath) in the System Environment Settings.
Refer to Access permission settings for details about how to set accounts and access permissions. For details on the System Environment Settings, refer to System Environment Settings.
Oplock (Opportunistic Lock) is disabled
When sharing files on a file server with an application that uses a file sharing protocol other than SMB or CIFS, oplock must be disabled.
For details about how to set oplock, refer to the manual for the operating system or file server that you are using.
When sharing files on a file server with an application that uses the SMB or CIFS file sharing protocols, it is not necessary to disable oplock.
