Product Key Update

Product Key Update changes HULFT product information or extends the usage period of HULFT without installing product modules.

You need to perform Product Key Update in the following cases:

Modification of the product information
- Changing a host name
- Switching over from the Trial version to the Product version
- Switching over from the Product version (Fixed Term License) to the Product version
- Changing a product grade
- Adding or deleting HULFT Cipher Options or changing the encryption scheme
- Enabling or disabling HULFT Script
Extension of usage period
- Extending the usage period for the Product version (Fixed Term License)

Run the setup program in the setup module for HULFT8 to update the product key.

You can also update the Product Key during Silent Installation.

Note

The version, the level, and the revision of the installed product must be the same as those of the product in the setup module in order to update the product key.

= Remarks =

The product information consists of basic information about HULFT, including the product type (Product version or Trial version), grade, usage of optional products and licenses, and installation host name.
HULFT product information includes the License Information of optional products. Therefore, changing HULFT product information by updating the Product Key also changes the product information of the relevant optional products.

For example, if you switch over from the Trial version of HULFT to the Product version, optional products such as HULFT Cipher Options are also switched over from the Trial version to the Product version.
To check the usage period of the Product version (Fixed Term License), run the Product Confirmation command (utlhulversion). The following information on the Product version (Fixed Term License) appears:
- Product version (License Type)
- Term License Key (Term License Key)
- License start date (Valid since)
- License expiration date (Expire on)
