Observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts

You can specify, for each type of service, whether the Observe system refuses service requests issued from hosts that are registered in the Host Information.

This function is collectively called "the observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts." The observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts allow you to achieve operation in which the Observe system accepts requests only for specific services and refuses requests for other services.

The observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts are applied to the services shown below:

  • Send Request (SEND)

  • Resend Request (RESEND)

  • Post-receive Job Result Inquiry Request (HULJOB)

  • Job Execution Result Notification (HULSNDRC)

  • Remote Job Execution (HULRJOB)

To refuse requests for specific services from registered hosts, specify "N" (No) for the following fields in the Host Information. Refer to Operation Manual for details on the Host Information.

  • Allow Send Request/Resend Request (SENDPERMIT)

  • Allow to View Post-receive Job Result (HULJOBPERMIT)

  • Allow to Notify Job Result (HULSNDRCPERMIT)

  • Allow to Execute Remote Job (HULRJOBPERMIT)

Figure 2.46 Observe setting functions for requests from registered hosts

During system operation, HULFT refuses to acknowledge service requests for which the setting field is set to "N" in the Host Information, and handles such requests as errors. In the example shown in the figure, HULFT refuses the connection from the services of Remote Job Execution (HULRJOB) and Post-receive Job Result Inquiry Request (HULJOB).
