Specification of information to be output to logs

You can specify the information that you want to output to the trace log and syslog.

You can use the following methods:

  • Reducing the information that is output to the logs

  • Specifying the output version of the common header area

(1) Reducing the information that is output to the logs

The information that is output to the logs contains the common header area and the output message area. You can specify whether to output all the information or only the common header area.

By outputting only the common header area, you can reduce the size of the log files.

For details on the output format and content of log records, refer to Error Codes and Messages.

Method of setting

Change the setting for Log Size Reduction Mode (logreduction) in the System Environment Settings.

For details on the settings of the fields, refer to Other Settings.

(2) Specifying the output version of the common header area

You can specify the format version of the common header area that is output to the logs.

The available versions of the common header area are the following:

  • V8.4 header

  • V8 header

  • V7 header

  • V6 header

For details about common header areas, refer to Error Codes and Messages.

= Remarks =

When you specify V8.4 header, the output format for log records (messages) is the same between HULFT for Windows and HULFT for UNIX/Linux.

Method of setting

Specify a value for Trace Output Version (tlogver) in the System Environment Settings.

For details on the settings of the fields, refer to Other Settings.
