Settings in HULFT for Mainframe

To specify the local host name, there are two relevant fields: Local Host Name and Letter Case Used When Host and Domain Names are Notified. With Letter Case Used When Host and Domain Names are Notified, you can select whether to use upper case or lower case when the name of local host is notified to the remote host.

These settings are to be specified in the System Environment Settings file.

System Environment Settings file

HULFT parameter library (HULPRM)

How to specify the settings

Specifying the name of local host

HOST-NAME=local host name (when the name is eight bytes or shorter)
DOMAIN=local domain name (when the name is nine bytes or longer)

Specifying the letter case used when host or domain name is notified

HSTCHA=letter case used when host and domain names are notified (L: lowercase, U: uppercase)

Default values

Local Host Name

Default value for the field listed in the section for the System Environment Settings in this manual

Letter Case Used When Host and Domain Names are Notified

Lowercase

Note

When both Local Host Name (HOST-NAME) and Local Domain Name (DOMAIN) are defined in the System Environment Settings file, Local Domain Name (DOMAIN) overrides.

The name set in HOST-NAME or DOMAIN is notified to the remote host in the format specified in HSTCHA.

When the remote host is UNIX, Linux, Windows, or NonStop, the name must be registered in the Host Information on each host by using the format specified in HSTCHA, because these host types are case sensitive.

When the remote host is Mainframe, IBMi or Fujitsu K, register the field in upper case in the Host Information on each host irrespective of what is specified as HSTCHA.

Example of settings

HSTCHA=L
DOMAIN=HOSTA

In the case of above descriptions, Local Host Name is notified to the remote host as shown below:

For UNIX, Linux, Windows, or NonStop
