Where to specify and how to use a transfer group ID

Transfer Group ID is defined in the Send Management Information or in the Receive Management Information.

 

Transfer Group ID in the Send Management Information is a mandatory field. When a Send File request is issued, the ID is used to determine the host to which the file is transferred.

 

On the other hand, Transfer Group ID in the Receive Management Information is an optional field. If the receiving-side host does not need to start any programs for receiving and only waits for files to arrive, Transfer Group ID is not required to be set in the Receive Management Information.

However, if you specify Transfer Group ID in the Receive Management Information, you can omit parameters of host names for the Send Request command, issue Send Request from the screen, and so on.
