New Installation of HULFT Script for UNIX/Linux

HULFT Script for UNIX/Linux provides the installers shown below. Use the installer appropriate for the platform you use.

The naming convention for installers is as shown below.

v: Version number

l: Level number

r: Revision number

m: Uppercase character for minor revision (omitted if minor revision does not exist)

The following are file name examples for Linux 64-bit edition:

Note
  • You must start up X Window System before running the installer.

  • You cannot use double-byte characters or single-byte spaces in the directory name at the installation destination.

  • You cannot scroll horizontally through input fields in the dialog boxes in the installer.

The procedure for installing HULFT Script is explained below:

1. Start up the installer.

Start up HULFT Script installer.

The installer's startup screen appears.

2. Perform necessary operations on the startup screen.

Select the operation language for HULFT Script and the display language for the installer, and then click OK.

The Introduction dialog box appears.

3. Start installation.

Click Next.

The Administrator Password Settings dialog box appears.

4. Set the administrator's password.

Enter the administrator's password, and then click Next. HULFT Script Server Settings dialog box appears.

= Remarks =
  • If you proceed without entering the password, 'password' is set automatically.

  • You can change the administrator's password by selecting Control Panel > User Accounts in HULFT Script Studio.

  • The administrator of HULFT Script (user) is the 'root' user, the only user who has access permissions for full control. Its account is different from the account for HULFT.

5. Set connection information.

Enter the host name or IP address of the machine used to run HULFT Script Server, and the port number used for communicating with HULFT Script Server, and then click Next. The Installation Directory Settings dialog box appears.

= Remarks =

If you proceed without entering the Host name/IP address, 'localhost' is set automatically.

If you proceed without entering the Port number, '7700' is set automatically.

Note

Administrator permissions may be required to set a value of '1023' or lower. To be able to start HULFT Script Server as a general user, set a value that is not within the range from '0' to '1023.'

6. Set HULFT Script installation destination.

Set HULFT Script installation destination. The default path for the installation destination is shown below:

<User_home_directory>/HULFT8Script

= Remarks =

To install in a different directory, click Choose to open the Select a Folder dialog box, and then select the directory that you want to install HULFT Script in. Even after selecting a different directory, you can click Restore Default Folder to restore it to the default directory.

Set the path to install HULFT Script, and then click Next.

The Option for HULFT destination dialog box appears.

Note
  • You cannot use double-byte characters in the installation directory name.

  • You cannot use '%' in the installation directory name.

  • If HULFT Script already exists in the specified installation directory, a warning dialog box appears. Do not overwrite HULFT Script that already exists.

  • After installing HULFT Script, you cannot change the name of the installation directory.

  • You cannot use single-byte spaces in the installation directory name.

  • If you installed HULFT Script as the root user, '500' is displayed as the owner user and owner group of the $HULFTSCRIPT_HOME/jre directory.

7. Select HULFT installation destination.

Enter the installation directory path for HULFT and the HULPATH directory where HULFT system files are located.

The default paths are shown below:

If you installed HULFT in a different directory, click Choose to open the Select a Folder dialog box, and then select the directory. Even after selecting a different directory, you can click Restore Default to restore it to the default directory.

Enter installation directory path for HULFT and HULPATH directory, and then click Next.

The Heap Size Settings dialog box appears.

8. Set the heap size.

Specify the size of the memory space for HULFT Script. Specify megabytes with either 'm' or 'M.' Specify gigabytes with either 'g' or 'G.'

If you proceed without entering the heap size, the following values are set automatically.

Specify the size of the memory space for HULFT Script, and then click Next. The Pre-Installation Summary dialog box appears.

9. Check the installation summary.

Check the details of the installation summary. If there are no problems, click Install.

The installation dialog box appears.

10. Install HULFT Script.

HULFT Script is installed.

When installation processing ends successfully, the Install Complete dialog box appears.

11. Complete installation.

Click Done to complete installation.
