Message Log
The setting screen for "message log" and the following fields are displayed when the destination host is HULFT Ver.8.4 or higher.
You cannot change these settings.
- Output to Message Log
-
Specify whether to output the messages of Send processing, Receive processing, Observe processing, and operation log output processing to the message log.
This can be set for each message level.
If you select the check box, log records of the specified message level are output to the message log, while if you clear the check box, no log records are output to the message log.
The message levels that can be set are as follows:
-
Information
-
Warning
-
Error
For details on message levels, refer to IBMi Error Codes and Messages.
NoteWhen HULFT on the destination host starts the Send Acknowledge job, the Receive Acknowledge job, the Request Acknowledge job, and the Operation Log Acknowledge job, if the message output parameter (OUTPUT) is specified for any of the jobs, the setting of this field is not used for the processing that corresponds to that job.
In this case, all messages are output.
-
- Message Log Output Version
-
Specify one of the following message output formats:
-
Previous Format
-
V8.4 Format
Refer to IBMi Error Codes and Messages for details on the message output format.
In this case, messages are output in the previous format.
-
- Send Message Log Output File Name
-
Specify the file name of the output destination file (message log) to which the Send Acknowledge job and the Send job output messages.
When HULFT on the destination host starts the Send Acknowledge job, if the message output parameter (OUTPUT) is omitted, the messages are output to the file that is specified for this field.
If both the message output parameter (OUTPUT) and this field are omitted, the messages are not output.
- Receive Message Log Output File Name
-
Specify the file name of the output destination file (message log) to which the Receive Acknowledge job and the Receive job output messages.
When HULFT on the destination host starts the Receive Acknowledge job, if the message output parameter (OUTPUT) is omitted, the messages are output to the file that is specified for this field.
If both the message output parameter (OUTPUT) and this field are omitted, the messages are not output.
- Observe Message Log Output File Name
-
Specify the file name of the output destination file (message log) to which the Request Acknowledge job and the Request job output messages.
When HULFT on the destination host starts the Request Acknowledge job, if the message output parameter (OUTPUT) is omitted, the messages are output to the file that is specified for this field.
If both the message output parameter (OUTPUT) and this field are omitted, the messages are not output.
- Operation-Log Message Log Output File Name
-
Specify the file name of the output destination file (message log) to which the Operation Log Acknowledge job and the Operation Log job output messages.
When HULFT on the destination host starts the Operation Log Acknowledge job, if the message output parameter (OUTPUT) is omitted, the messages are output to the file that is specified for this field.
If both the message output parameter (OUTPUT) and this field are omitted, the messages are not output.
- Message Log Deletion Threshold
-
Specify the timing when HULFT automatically deletes the messages of Send processing, Receive processing, Observe processing, and operation log output processing.
(unit: records)
When the record count of each message log exceeds the threshold value, older log records are deleted.
If you specify "0", the records are not automatically deleted.
In this case, the number of records to be kept is unlimited.
