Communication

Note

You cannot change these settings.

Connect Retry Interval

Specify the retry interval for reconnection when reconnection is attempted by HULFT during failure in the socket connection to the receiving host.

(unit: seconds)

Connect Retry Count

Specify the number of times reconnection will be attempted by HULFT when there is a failure in socket connection to the receiving host.

If you specify '0,' reconnection is not attempted.

Auto Resend Retry Count

Specify the auto resend try count by HULFT in case of communication error during the Send processing or the Receive processing.

If you specify '0,' auto resend is not attempted.

Socket Read Timeout

Specify the time-out period when there is no response from remote host during socket communication.

(unit: seconds)

HULFT Manager Timeout

Specify a time-out period when no response is received from HULFT Manager when the Observe processing is executed.

(unit: seconds)

Socket Buffer Size for Data Sending

Specify the socket buffer size when data is sent.

When you specify '0,' HULFT applies the value configured in its environment (operating system).

Socket Buffer Size for Data Receiving

Specify the socket buffer size when data is received.

When you specify '0,' HULFT applies the value configured in its environment (operating system).

Framed Message Transfer Type

Specify a data transfer method.

Error Detection Priority Mode:

HULFT operates in Error Detection Priority mode during both sending and receiving. The data transfer method, the timing for the transfer error detection, and the timing of cancelation acknowledgment are the same as those of HULFT lower than Ver.7.

Send Speed Priority Mode:

For sending, HULFT operates in Transfer Speed Priority mode, and for receiving, it operates in Error Detection Priority mode. In Send Speed Priority mode, utilization of resources when the Send processing is carried out varies more widely than the conventional transfer method of HULFT lower than Ver.7, and this may cause a delay in error detection and cancelation acknowledgment. When HULFT on the receiving side is not in Transfer Speed Priority mode, Error Detection Priority mode is applied.

Receive Speed Priority Mode:

For receiving, HULFT operates in Transfer Speed Priority mode, and for sending, it operates in Error Detection Priority mode. In Receive Speed Priority mode, utilization of resources when the Receive processing is carried out varies more widely than the conventional transfer method of HULFT lower than Ver.7, and this may cause a delay in error detection and cancelation acknowledgment. When HULFT on the sending side is not in Transfer Speed Priority mode, Error Detection Priority mode is applied.

Send and Receive Speed Priority Mode:

HULFT operates in Transfer Speed Priority mode for both sending and receiving. In Send and Receive Speed Priority mode, utilization of resources when the Send processing and the Receive processing is carried out varies more widely than the conventional transfer method of HULFT lower than Ver.7, and this may cause a delay in error detection and cancelation acknowledgment. If HULFT on the remote host is not in Transfer Speed Priority mode, Error Detection Priority mode is applied.

For information on the different data transfer methods, refer to IBMi Administration Manual.

Send Dummy Packets

Specify whether HULFT transmits a small amount of packet to the remote host at intervals to prevent a communication time-out.

Mode 0:

Disable Packet Transmission

Mode 1:

Enable Packet Transmission

The jobs that are started if you specify 'Mode 1' are shown below.

  • HULSNDH

  • HULRCVH

  • HULOBSH

Queue of Pending Connect

Specify the maximum number of jobs that the Send Acknowledge Job, the Receive Acknowledge Job, and the Observe Job can accept in a simultaneous connection.

If a number of connections that exceeds this value is made at the same time, an error occurs on the connecting side.
