Setup type and workflow

The installation workflow of HULFT varies depending on the setup type. The installation procedure is shown below:

The default value is the host name for TCP/IP connections configured in the operating system. When the host name is 68 bytes or less, the value of the host name is set as it is.

When either of the following conditions is met, the Entry of Host Name screen is displayed even in Express mode and you need to set the host name manually.

  • The host name exceeds 68 bytes

  • Host name has not been registered or is blank

  • An error occurs when acquiring the host name

Japanese is automatically set when the system value QLANGID is set to "JPN". Otherwise, English is set.

If the system value QLANGID cannot be acquired, the screen for setting the language used in HULFT is displayed even in Express mode and you need to set the language type manually.

Normally, the screen for selecting the EBCDIC set used before the update is not displayed when an upgrade from HULFT8 for IBMi Ver.8.1.0 or higher is performed.

However, the screen is displayed when the setting value cannot be acquired from the System Environment Settings in a case such as where HULENV is edited directory.

If the screen is displayed in an upgrade from HULFT8 for IBMi Ver.8.1.0 or higher, set the same value for HULFT Character Set (HULCHARSET) as in the previous environment.
