Limitations on added features in HULFT8

In the structure that includes HULFT lower than Ver.8.1 as a client or HULFT-HUB Server as a server, use of the following new features in HULFT Ver.8 is restricted:

  • HULFT7 Communication Mode

  • DEFLATE Compression

  • Forced Strong Key mode

  • Instant transfer in Forced Strong Key mode

  • Switchover of the code converting side

(1) Limitations on HULFT7 communication mode

In the following structure, a transfer error occurs if you do not specify 'Yes' for the Use HULFT7 Comm. Mode of the Host Information:

When HULFT-HUB Server Ver.3.4 connects to HULFT8

A transfer error occurs if one of the following conditions is met:

  • Either a client on the sending side or a client on the receiving side is lower than HULFT Ver.8.

  • Client on the sending side is HULFT Ver.8.1 or higher.

  • HULFT-HUB Server lower than Ver.3.4 exists en route

When HULFT-HUB Server Ver.3.5 or higher connects to HULFT8

A transfer error occurs if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Client on the sending side is HULFT Ver.8 or higher and the client is connected from HULFT-HUB Server Ver.3.5 or higher

  • Client on the receiving side is connected from HULFT-HUB Server Ver.3.4 or higher

  • HULFT-HUB Server lower than Ver.3.4 exists en route

(2) Limitations on DEFLATE compression

In the following structure, a transfer error may occur if you compress data using DEFLATE with HUB Multicasting specified:

  • Specifying the DEFLATE compression on a sending host

  • Not all clients on the receiving side support DEFLATE compression

  • No accumulation on HULFT-HUB

(3) Limitations on Forced Strong Key Mode

HULFT-HUB lower than Ver.3.9.0 does not provide support for Forced Strong Key mode. For this reason, if Forced Strong Key Mode is set to "Enabled" in the System Environment Settings on a host that is running HULFT Ver.8.4, you cannot register the host to HULFT-HUB lower than Ver.3.9.0.

Additionally, when the setting for Forced Strong Key Mode is changed from "Disabled" to "Enabled" in the System Environment Settings on the host that is running HULFT Ver.8.4 and has already been registered to a HULFT-HUB lower than Ver.3.9.0, the behavior of the host on HULFT-HUB lower than Ver.3.9.0 is not guaranteed.

(4) Limitations on instant transfer

HULFT-HUB Server cannot relay Instant Transfer.

(5) Limitations on switchover of the code converting side

When transferring a file via a HULFT-HUB Server lower than Ver.3.9.0, automatic switchover of the sending side conversion and the receiving side conversion is not available.
