Common limitations
(1) Limitations on IDs exceeding 8 bytes
When the remote host is lower than HULFT8, you cannot use IDs that exceed 8 bytes. Using one causes an error.
(2) Limitations on DEFLATE compression
When the remote host is lower than HULFT8 or HULFT8 for Mainframe, you cannot use the DEFLATE compression. In this case, data is transferred without compression even when you specify DEFLATE.
(3) Limitations on sending long messages
When the remote host is lower than HULFT8, long messages are not sent even if you specified transmission of long messages on issuing the Send File or the Send Request.
Also, the following processing is not executed on the remote host (lower than HULFT8):
-
Message output to the Send Log and to the Receive Log on the remote host
-
Dynamic change (message replacement) of various system management information on the remote host
The following processing is executed on the local host (HULFT8):
-
Message output to the Send Log
-
Dynamic change (message replacement) of various system management information
(4) Limitations on log output improvement
When the remote host is lower than HULFT8, the correct remote host name might not be displayed, depending on the timing of error occurrence.
(5) Limitations on Transfer Test function
With the Transfer Test function, behavior for each host might differ depending on a combination of transfer preferences specified on the sending host and on the receiving host.
Table 8.1 shows combinations of transfer preferences and the operations of each host.

An error (Status Code=517) occurs on the host on the receiving side. |
*2 |

The result on the host on the sending side varies depending on the setting of the Result Handing of Receiving in the System Environment Settings. |
*3 |

HULFT does not transfer files to the host on the receiving side. |
For details of transfer preferences, refer to Administration Manual.
