Improvement in transfer speed by selecting data transfer method
|
|
Transfer Speed Priority mode has been added as one of the values for the data transfer method (Framed Message Transfer). The feature allows you to select Transfer Speed Priority mode as well as the conventional Error Detection Priority mode in accordance with the environment of users. Using the Transfer Speed Priority mode improves transfer speed for large data transfers in high-speed network environments.
Installing HULFT Ver.7 or higher sets HULFT to use the Transfer Speed Priority mode by default.
To improve the transfer speed in Transfer Speed Priority mode, you must set Transfer Block Size to the optimal value of the network where HULFT is running.
Depending on your network environment, the transfer speed might be slower for the Transfer Speed Priority Mode than for the Error Detection Priority Mode.

Figure 2.1 Data Transfer Method
To use the Transfer Speed Priority Mode, both sending host and receiving host must use HULFT Ver.7 or higher. In addition, HUB-Server to be routed through must be Ver.2.2 or higher, if these hosts use HULFT-HUB. If you use HULFT of lower version (namely, HULFT Ver.6 or lower), data transfer is performed in the Error Detection Priority Mode.

If there is no improvement in transfer speed or if transfer speed slows down despite the specification of the Transfer Speed Priority Mode, you must change the settings on transfer. For details, refer to Administration Manual.

Upgrading the product version to Ver.7 or higher sets HULFT to use the Transfer Speed Priority Mode by default. If you must maintain the behavior of HULFT lower than Ver.7, modify the setting of the Framed Message Transfer Type to Error Detection Priority Mode.
