Support for data that includes invalid shift code

HULFT-JPN

7.3.0

HULFT-ENG

7.3.0

In the previous revisions, if an invalid shift code existed (for example, one of the paired shift codes was singly inserted or redundantly repeated), an error occurred during the code conversion, when Code Set for Transfer for the send file (input data) was set to one of the EBCDIC code sets. In HULFT Ver.7.3 or higher, such an invalid shift code is now removed or converted to a space code depending on the settings. This feature allows the application to continue processing data transfers without raising an error. The examples below illustrate an operation of removing invalid shift codes or converting them to space codes:

Example 1)
  • Conversion from EBCDIC (IBM Kanji) to ASCII (EUC-JP)

  • Transferred in either Format Transfer or Multi Format Transfer

  • Setting application so as to cut (remove) invalid shiftcode

Example 2)
  • Conversion from EBCDIC (IBM Kanji) to ASCII (EUC-JP)

  • Transferred in either Format Transfer or Multi Format Transfer

  • Setting application so as to convert invalid shiftcode

Example 3)
  • Conversion from EBCDIC (IBM Kanji) to EBCDIC (JEF)

  • Transferred in either Format Transfer or Multi Format Transfer
