Automatic optimization of transfer settings

HULFT

8.0.0

The optimal value for the packet size used when data is transferred can now be automatically calculated from network settings.

In versions lower than HULFT8, you must manually adjust the packet size for transfer data in Transfer Block Length and Transfer Block Count in the Send Management Information file.

In HULFT8, set "0" for the following fields to automatically calculate the optimal packet size:

Send Management Information file

  • Transfer Block Length

  • Transfer Block Count

You can also make adjustments manually in the same way as in previous versions.

Note
  • The automatic optimization of transfer settings is available when you install the following products:

    • HULFT8 for UNIX/Linux

    • HULFT8 for NonStop

    • HULFT8 for Windows

    • HULFT8 for IBMi

  • Although the automatic optimization can determine the most suitable value for the operating environment in use, note that the feature does not necessarily guarantee an increase of the transfer speed.

  • When you set "0" for both Transfer Block Length and Transfer Block Count in HULFT8 for Mainframe, HULFT transfers data with 64240 set as a fixed value for the packet size.
