Support for UTF-8 as code set of local host

Among HULFT products lower than Ver.8.1, only the following products have provided UTF-8 as an option for the code set of a local host until now:

  • HULFT7 for UNIX/Linux

  • HULFT7 for NSK

  • HULFT7e for UNIX/Linux

  • HULFT8 for UNIX/Linux lower than Ver.8.1

 

From HULFT Ver.8.1 onward, "UTF-8" can be selected as Code Set for Transfer on the local host in the following products:

  • HULFT8 for Windows Ver.8.1 or higher

  • HULFT8 for IBMi Ver.8.1 or higher

  • HULFT8 for zOS Ver.8.1 or higher

Note

  • In HULFT for zOS, you can specify "UTF-8" for Code Set for Transfer of the local host.

    However, in such a case, code conversion on HULFT8 for zOS is not available.

    Configure HULFT so that HULFT on the remote host carries out the Code Conversion.

  • In HULFT8 for NonStop and HULFT7 for NSK, you can specify "UTF-8" for Code Set for Transfer on the local host. However, because NonStop does not support UTF-8, the behavior is not guaranteed in HULFT for NSK.
