DEFLATE compression
|
A new compression preference is added that supports a compression algorithm called DEFLATE.
Although DEFLATE is commonly used for ZIP and other types of file compression, HULFT uses on-board memory for processing, and therefore this algorithm on HULFT is faster than even ZIP compression of pre-transfer files, such as for batch processing.
You can use DEFLATE compression to reduce consumption of network bandwidth and dramatically reduce transfer time when transferring large-capacity files.
This compression preference can be used for all transfer types (text, binary, format, and multi format).
When you select "DEFLATE" for the Compression Preference in the Send Management Information, you can specify the DEFLATE Level.
For the DEFLATE Level, specify "Speed", "Compression Ratio", or "Default".
DEFLATE compression is available when you install one of the following products on both sending host and receiving host:
-
HULFT for UNIX/Linux Ver.8.0.0 or higher
-
HULFT for NSK Ver.8.1.0 or higher
-
HULFT for Windows Ver.8.0.0 or higher
-
HULFT for IBMi Ver.8.1.0 or higher
