Type-ASCII Code Set and Type-EBCDIC Code Set

This document categorizes code sets into either of the following:

  • Type-ASCII Code Set

    This represents the type of code sets that use the ASCII encoding for single byte codes.

  • Type-EBCDIC Code Set

    This represents the type of code sets that use an EBCDIC encoding for single byte codes.
