Points to be noted for System Environment Settings

Please note the following when setting up the system environment:

  • When you use multiple JCL jobs on a single system of HULFT, define the same settings for the System Environment Settings within the XRSYSIN definition card in each JCL job.

If different settings are defined for the System Environment Settings in the JCL jobs, proper operation of HULFT is not guaranteed.

  • If you specify '*' in the first byte of the definition card, HULFT treats the line as a comment.

  • To modify the settings for the System Environment Settings, modify the System Environment Settings file (HULFT.PARMLIB(HULPRM)).

Use the System Environment Settings Default Value Modification program (XRPRMSET) only when it is absolutely necessary to modify the default values for the System Environment Settings.

Please note the following, when modifying default values:

    • Discrepancies between the default values that you have modified and the default values that are displayed in error messages (XRPxxxx) of the XRSYSIN definition card

    • Executing the System Environment Settings Default Value Output program (XRPRMGEN), when you intend to view the default values after modification

  • HULFT system reads the System Environment Settings during startup.

Therefore, if you modify the System Environment Settings after HULFT system has started, HULFT system continues to operate under the previous settings.

To avoid such a situation, use the following procedure when you modify the System Environment Settings:

    1. End HULFT system and exit the HULFT Management Console.

    2. Modify the System Environment Settings.

    3. Start HULFT system and the HULFT Management Console.
