Product Key Update

A Product Key Update changes HULFT product information or extends the usage period of HULFT without installing product modules.

A Product Key Update is required in the following cases:

  • Change of product information

    • Changing a host name

    • Switching over from the Trial version to the Product version

    • Switching over from the Product version (Fixed Term License) to the Product version

    • Changing a product grade

    • Adding or deleting HULFT Cipher Option or changing the encryption scheme

  • Extension of usage period

    • Extending the usage period for the Product version (Fixed Term License)

To update the product key, run the setup program on the setup module of HULFT10. You can also update the Product Key during Silent Installation.

Note

In order to update the product key, the version, level, or revision must be the same for both the product currently installed and the product on the setup module.

= Remarks =

  • The product information consists of basic information about HULFT, including the product type (Product version, Trial version, etc.), grade, usage of option products and licenses, and installation host name.

  • HULFT product information includes the License Information of option products. Therefore, changing HULFT product information by updating the Product Key also changes the product information of the relevant option products.

    For example, if you switch over from the Trial version of HULFT to the Product version, HULFT Cipher Option, which is an option product, is also switched over from the Trial version to the Product version.

  • You can check the usage period of the Product version (Fixed Term License) with the following methods:

    • Check using the Version Information dialog box

      1. On the HULFT Management Console, select the Help menu and click Version Information.

      2. The Version Information dialog box appears, in which you can check the usage period.

    • Execution of the Product Confirmation command (utlhulversion)

      The following information regarding the Product version (Fixed Term License) appears:

      • Term License Key (Term License Key)

      • License start date (Valid since)

      • License expiration date (Expire on)
