Unable to start the Observe daemon

  • Are the environment variables HULPATH and HULEXEP defined?

  • Does the user who is attempting to start HULFT have execution permission?

  • Does the user have the permissions to read and write the directory that is specified as HULPATH?

  • Does the user have the permissions to read and write 'hulenv.conf' in HULPATH?

  • Is the content of 'hulenv.conf' in HULPATH correct?

  • Are you trying to start the daemon by using a port number that is already in use?

  • Has the daemon already been started?

Unable to end the Observe daemon

  • Are the environment variables HULPATH and HULEXEP defined?

  • Does the user who is attempting to terminate HULFT have execution permission?

  • Does the user have the permissions to read and write the directory that is specified as HULPATH?

  • Does the user have the permissions to read and write 'hulenv.conf' in HULPATH?

  • Has the port number been changed after the daemon was started?

Able to execute the Send File, but the execution of the Send Request fails

  • Do the host names in the Send Log and the Observe Log match?

Unable to start Post-send Job, Post-receive Job, and/or Detection Job for File Trigger

  • Does the user who is starting the daemon have execution permission?

  • Is the daemon startup path set correctly?

Daemon is set to be started when the power is turned on but the Post-send Job and/or Post-receive Job do not start

  • Is the path set in the environment for daemon startup?

Unable to detect operation of file that uses network resources (networked file) with the File Trigger function

  • Does the user who started the Observe daemon have permission to access the target file and the Path to Location for Cross-Product Sharing?

  • Check the following points concerning the path in which the file is located:

    • If the path is NFS-mounted

    • If the version of NFS is 3 (NFS v3) or higher

    • If the attribute caching is disabled

  • Check the following points concerning the server on which the file is located:

    • If the ping command succeeds

    • If the prerequisites for the use of networked files are satisfied

    • If you can view or edit the target file with applications other than HULFT
