When a joined file is split using Joined File Split (UTLBREAK), half-width backslashes in data joined to the file may be converted to half-width yen symbols.

Condition to reproduce

This phenomenon occurs when all of the following conditions are met:

  • "I" (IBM Kanji) is specified for Code Set for Transfer (CS4TRNSFR) in the System Environment Settings

  • One of the following is specified for the EBCDIC Set parameter (CODESET) of the the Joined File Break program when splitting a joined file:

    Autoconfiguration

    E:

    Japan (Latin) for IBM

    F:

    Japan (Latin) Extended for IBM

    H:

    Japan (Katakana) Extended for IBM

    Unspecified

     

  • On the host that joined the file, the specification of Code Set for Transfer or Kanji Code Type is "8" (UTF-8)

  • The joined file data contains half-width backslashes
