When a joined file is split using Joined File Split (UTLBREAK), half-width yen symbols in data joined to the file may be converted to half-width backslashes.

Condition to reproduce

This phenomenon occurs when all of the following conditions are met:

  • "I" (IBM Kanji) is specified for Code Set for Transfer (CS4TRNSFR) in the System Environment Settings

    In versions lower than Ver.8.1.0, the field Code Set for Transfer (CS4TRNSFR) does not exist, and "I" (IBM Kanji) is always used.

  • One of the following is specified for the EBCDIC Set parameter (CODESET) of the the Joined File Break program when splitting a joined file:

    0:

    Autoconfiguration (*1)

    E:

    Japan (Latin) for IBM (*2)

    F:

    Japan (Latin) Extended for IBM (*3)

    H:

    Japan (Katakana) Extended for IBM (*3)

    Unspecified (*3)

  • On the host that joined the file, the specification of Code Set for Transfer or Kanji Code Type is "S" (SHIFT-JIS) or "E" (EUC-JP)

  • The joined file data contains half-width yen symbols
