Prerequisites of a file transfer

This section describes the prerequisites to execute a file transfer on the HULFT system.

Host Name

For a file transfer by the HULFT system, a remote host is identified with its host name.

Before a file transfer, use a ping command or any other command to make sure that your local host has already established communication with the remote host.

Matching of File IDs

To transfer files by the HULFT system, configure the system management information on both hosts on the sending side and the receiving side for each file to transfer. Each record of the system management information is managed using a file ID.

Therefore, the same string must be registered for File ID on both the host on the sending side and the host on the receiving side. The HULFT system transfers a file in accordance with the settings of the matching file ID on the host on the sending side and the host on the receiving side.

For details about the system management information, refer to Information managed by the HULFT system.
