Code Set for Transfer

The code set that is used in the Send file and the Receive file is called 'Code Set for Transfer.'

Specify the Code Set for Transfer of the local host for Code Set for Transfer (cs4trnsfr) in the System Environment Settings.

Additionally, in HULFT10 for Container Services and HULFT10 for Container Platform, you can specify the Code Set for Transfer of the specified file by using either of the following fields:

  • Code Set for Transfer in the Send Management Information

  • Code Set for Transfer in the Receive Management Information

Specify the Code Set for Transfer of the remote host for Code Set for Transfer (KCODETYPE) in the Host Information.

 

The following shows the types of code sets that you can specify for Code Set for Transfer (cs4trnsfr) in the System Environment Settings.

This is a new Chinese code set that has been added to HULFT Ver.8.1. You can specify it when the remote host also runs HULFT Ver.8.1 or higher.

You must specify the code set for Code Set for Transfer so that the code set matches the system locale.

You can specify this code set in HULFT for NonStop, but because NonStop does not support it, operation is not guaranteed.

In HULFT for MSP and HULFT for XSP, there is no setting of the Code Set for Transfer in the System Environment Settings. The code set that is used in the Send file and the Receive file is 'Fujitsu Kanji (JEF),' which is the code of local host type.

 

In HULFT lower than Ver.8.1, the code set of the Send file or the Receive file corresponds to the code of local host type.

The code of local host type varies depending on HULFT product type, as shown below.

  • HULFT for Linux/AIX and HULFT for NonStop

    You can select a code set from the following types:

    • Shift-JIS

    • EUC

    • UTF-8

    Specify the code of local host type for Kanji Code Type in the System Environment Settings.

     

  • Other than HULFT for Linux/AIX and HULFT for NonStop

    The code set is fixed according to the product type, as shown below.
