When you use HULFT Cipher Option

To use HULFT10 Cipher Option, you need to set the field in the System Environment Settings as shown below.

When you use HULFT Cipher Option, be sure to set the above field to "1".

When you do not use HULFT Cipher Option, be sure to set the above field to "0".

 

When a new installation of HULFT or an update installation for the current installation of HULFT is performed by using a valid product key, the value for Encryption Scheme in the System Environment Settings will be automatically set to "1".

In the following cases, make sure that the value for Encryption Scheme in the System Environment Settings is appropriate.

  • When you switch the license from which HULFT Cipher Option is deactivated to a license with HULFT Cipher Option activated

  • When you switch the license from which HULFT Cipher Option is activated to a license with HULFT Cipher Option deactivated

When you use Forced Strong Key mode

To use Forced Strong Key mode, the fields in the System Environment Settings must be specified as the table below:

When you use Forced Strong Key mode, check the settings are configured on both local and remote hosts as follows:

  • Encryption Scheme is set to "1" in the System Environment Settings on the host installed with HULFT Cipher Option (AES) Ver.8.0.0 or higher.

  • Forced Strong Key Mode is set to "1" in the System Environment Settings.

 

If you do not use Forced Strong Key mode, disable Forced Strong Key Mode in the System Environment Settings on both local host and remote host.

 

When a New Installation is performed, "0" is set for Forced Strong Key Mode in the System Environment Settings.

If the New Installation is performed with a product key that contains a license of HULFT Cipher Option (AES) Ver.8.0.0 or higher, you might change Forced Strong Key Mode to "1" in the System Environment Settings to use Forced Strong Key mode.

 

When an Update Installation is performed, you do not need to change Forced Strong Key Mode in the System Environment Settings because the value is carried over from the previous settings.

 

In either of the following conditions, the value for Forced Strong Key Mode is not carried over from the previous settings in the System Environment Settings. For the setting value, "0" is specified by default.

  • An Update Installation from a version lower than Ver.8.4.0 is performed

  • A Product Key Update is performed

After the installation, check the value of Forced Strong Key Mode.
