Host Information

This topic explains how to register detailed information for the host on the sending side and the host on the receiving side.

When you add a Transfer definition, HULFT-HUB Manager automatically generates the Host Information from the Registered Client Information of the clients in HULFT-HUB system (the clients on the Structure Diagram on the Management screen) and registers the information.

You can view and modify this information on the following screens:

  • Register Host Information/Modify Host Information Record screen
  • Collecting and Distributing System Management Information screen

You can also import and export this information on the following screen:

  • Collecting and Distributing System Management Information screen
[Note] For versions lower than HULFT-HUB Server Ver.3.9, if the client is HULFT Ver.8.4 or higher and the Forced Strong Key Mode is set to 'Enabled' in the System Environment Settings, connection with the client is not supported. Therefore, it is not possible to view, update, or newly register the management information for that client.

Explanation of Each Field

The following describes the fields that are configured in the Host Information.

For a field for which you select an option from the list, the following shows both the options that are displayed on the screen and the values that are described in the CSV file to be used for Collecting and Distributing System Management Information.

1. Basic Settings

These fields are the basic settings for remote hosts for file transfer.

(A1) Host Name

This field specifies the name of the host on the sending side or of the host on the receiving side.

For the Send processing, this host name is associated with the host name of the Transfer Group Information.

For the Receive processing, this host name is associated with the local host name on the sending side.

For a host that carries out file transfer via HULFT-HUB Server, specify the host name within 44 bytes.

[Note] Specify only alphanumeric characters for the host name. Although you can use specific symbols in order to ensure backward compatibility, HULFT may not operate correctly if you do so.

(A2) Host Type

This field specifies the host type for the host.

Mainframe H Mainframe
Linux L Linux/UNIX/NonStop
Windows W Windows operating system
AS/400 A IBMi

(A3) Code Set for Transfer (KCODETYPE)

This field specifies the code set that is used for the Send file and the Receive file for the host.

Description
SHIFT-JIS S SHIFT-JIS
JEF J JEF
EUC E EUC
IBM Kanji I IBM Kanji
UTF-8 8 UTF-8
GB18030 G GB18030
IBM Simplified Chinese C IBM Simplified Chinese
[Note] The Kanji code types that you can select vary depending on the host type and version of the host.

(A4) Standard for Japanese

This field specifies the JIS Year for the Code Set for Transfer (KCODETYPE).

Description
78JIS 78 78 JIS
83JIS 83 (default value) 83 JIS

(A5) Receive Port No.

This field specifies the port number that the Receive Acknowledge job uses.

If you omit this specification in the CSV file for Collecting and Distributing System Management Information, HULFT-HUB sets '30000.'

(A6) Request Acknowledge Port No.

This field specifies the port number that the Request Acknowledge job uses.

(A7) Connection Type

This field specifies the connection type of the host.

You can specify only 'LAN.'

(A8) Send Process Multiplex Level by Host

This field specifies the Send Process Multiplex Level for the host.

If you set '0,' HULFT does not apply the multiplex level of sending by host.

If you omit this field, HULFT-HUB sets '0.'

For the Send Process Multiplex Level by Host, set a value that is lower than the Send Job Multiplex Level in the System Environment Settings.

(A9) Use HULFT7 Comm. Mode

This field specifies the method of communication with the host.

<Table> Setting Values for Use HULFT7 Comm. Mode

On-screen
Options
Values in
CSV File
Description
No N HULFT first uses the connection method of HULFT8 to connect to the remote host. If the remote host uses a lower version, HULFT switches to the connection method of HULFT7.
Yes Y HULFT uses the connection method of HULFT7 from the beginning.

(A10) Comment

This field specifies the comment regarding the host.

[Note] If you enter double-byte codes on a screen in HULFT-HUB Manager, shift codes may be added to the double-byte codes when the information is registered on the client side. If the data exceeds 60 bytes when shift codes are added, HULFT will cut the data of the 61st byte and after.
[Remarks] You can enter lowercase alphabetic characters.

2. Internet

HULFT-HUB requires this information for file transfer via HULFT-HUB Server.

(B1) Proxy Server Name

This field specifies the host name for HULFT-HUB Server (Controlling Server) with a route closest to the client, of those servers that can relay the Send processing and the Receive processing.

[Remarks] If you register the Transfer definitions on the Transfer Information screen, HULFT-HUB automatically sets the host name of the Controlling Server based on the route settings.

(B2) Proxy Port No.

This field specifies the port number for HULFT-HUB Server (Controlling Server) with a route closest to the client, of those servers that can relay the Send processing and the Receive processing.

[Remarks] If you register the Transfer definitions on the Transfer Information screen, HULFT-HUB automatically sets the port number of the Controlling Server based on the route settings.

3. Security

The user is notified of operations that are carried out.

(D1) Alias

This field specifies the alias for the host.

(D2) Batch Distribution ID

This field shows the Batch Distribution Information ID with which the Host Information is registered as distribution data (cannot be modified).

Points to be Noted When Configuring Settings

1. Host name that is used for transfer via HULFT-HUB Server

  • When you omit the Notification Host Name in the Registered Client Information

The host name in the Host Information that is used for transfer via HULFT-HUB Server varies according to the setting of the Notification Host Name for Transfer via HUB in the System Environment Settings of HULFT-HUB Server.

Notification Host Name for Transfer via HUB Host Name in Host Information
Format with Port No. Host Name_Receive Port No.
Format with Port No. for Controlled Clients Only
Format without Port No. Host Name

This is the case for the Host Information that is registered in HULFT-HUB Manager when you carry out the following operations:

    - Switching to transfer via HULFT-HUB Server using the Route Batch Modification function
    - Registration of a client with 'Switch to HUB Transfer' specified
    - Creation of a Transfer definition for transfer via HULFT-HUB Server
  • When you specify the Notification Host Name in the Registered Client Information

For the host name in the Host Information that is used for all transfers via HULFT-HUB Server, HULFT-HUB uses the name that you specify for the Notification Host Name.
