Excel Read Wizard

Excel Read Wizard is a function to specify the reading range for Read from Sheet simply with dragging operation.

Excel Read Wizard Settings Screen Properties

Item name Description Remarks
Sheet name The sheet name selected in Select range of reading is displayed.
  • You cannot enter it directly.
Reading starting cell The reading starting cell selected in Select range of reading is displayed.
  • You cannot enter it directly.
Select "Select range of reading" dialog will appear.  
Column list The Column name / Type selected in Select range of reading are displayed.
Selected column name is displayed after Get column name.
  • For more details on each item, refer to Read from Sheet page.
Get column name "Get column name" dialog will appear.
  • It is enabled after selecting the range of reading.
Reading end condition The next row of the range selected in Select range of reading is set as the reading end condition.

Each column can be operated with the following buttons.
  • [Up]:
    Move the selected column upwards by one row.
  • [Down]:
    Move the selected column downwards by one row.
  • [Add]:
    Add a column.
  • [Delete]:
    Delete the column.

Cancel "Excel Read Wizard" settings screen is closed.  
Finish "Excel Read Wizard" settings screen is closed, and the setting items of the wizard is reflected to the properties of Read from Sheet.  

Operation method of Excel Read Wizard

Launch Excel Read Wizard and Select range of reading

  1. Click [Open Excel Wizard] from the properties of Read from Sheet.

  2. The Excel file selected in [File] is displayed and "Select range of reading" dialog will appear.


  3. Select by dragging the reading range on the cell and click [OK] button.
    You can select up to 500 columns for reading range in Excel Read Wizard. When you want to specify a range exceeding 500 columns, set the [Column list] manually from the properties of Read from Sheet.


  4. "Select range of reading" dialog is closed and the "Excel Read Wizard" settings screen is displayed.
    To reflect the selected reading range, you can perform the following settings.

    Item name Setting value
    Reading starting cell Starting cell of the selected reading range
    Column list/Column name The value of the row before the selected reading range
    Column list/Type The value of cell format in the first row of the selected reading range
    Reading end condition/Column name The value of the column before the selected reading range
    Reading end condition/Row number The next row number of the selected reading range
    Reading end condition/Condition value [(Not specified)]
    Reading end condition/And/Or [AND]


  5. When you click [Finish] button, the setting items are reflected to the properties of Read from Sheet.

Get column name

To change the column names at once, perform the following operations.
  1. Click on [Get column name] button.

  2. The "Excel Read Wizard" settings screen is closed, and "Get column name" dialog appears.

  3. Select by dragging the column used for column name on the cell and click [OK] button.
    You can specify one row of cells with the number of columns same as the range selected in "Select range of reading" dialog.


  4. "Get column name" dialog is closed and the "Excel Read Wizard" settings screen is displayed.
    Column name selected in [Column name] of [Column list] is displayed.


  5. When you click [Finish] button, the setting items are reflected to the properties of Read from Sheet.

End of Excel Read Wizard

For completing the wizard settings

  1. Click on [Finish] button.

  2. Excel Read Wizard is closed and the setting items of the wizard is reflected to the properties of Read from Sheet.

For canceling the wizard settings

  1. Click on [Cancel] button.

  2. Excel Read Wizard is closed.
