EICS Event Settings(Outbound)

To execute Outbound operation which calls scripts of DataSpider Servista from SAP system, it is required to set a event in EICS.

Basic settings(New Event)

Connection settings(Event Connection Properties)

Item name	Required/Optional	Description	Remarks
Username	Required	Input the user name to connect to SAP system.
Password	Required	Input the password of the user to connect to SAP system.	SAP system of versions former than ERP6.0(mySAP2005) does not distinguish between upper and lower cases on passwords.
Server	Optional	Enter the IP address or the host name of SAP system to connect. When connecting via SAProuter, enter the route string. Example: /H/sap_rout/S/sapserv/H/yourapp	If host name is specified with name, it is required that the entered name can be resolved from the specified host. Required when "False" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].
Client	Required	Enter a client number.
Language	Required	Select language.	When using Japanese data, select "Japanese(JA)".
System Number	Optional	Enter a system number.	Required when "False" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].
Connection Pool Minimum Count	Optional	Enter the minimum count of connection which will be pooled to connection pool.	Enter an integer more than "0". When "0" is entered, connection pool will not be performed. The default value is "2".
Connection Pool Maximum Count	Optional	Enter the maximum count of connection which will be pooled to connection pool.	Enter an integer more than "1". The default value is "10". Enter a value more than [Connection Pool Minimum Count]. An error occurs when the required connection count exceeds the value specified in [Connection Pool Maximum Count].
Convert HostName to IP Address	Optional	Select whether to convert host name into IP address and send it to SAP system, when the value specified at [Server] is a host name. [False]: Sends to SAP system with the host name and does not convert into IP address. [True]:(default) Converts into IP address and sends to SAP system with it.	If you entered a route string in [Server], select "False".
Gateway Server	Required	Enter a gateway service running in SAP system.
Gateway Host	Required	Enter the host name or IP address of the server in which SAP system runs. When connecting via SAProuter, enter the route string. Example: /H/sap_rout/S/sapserv/H/yourapp
Group/Server Selection	Optional	Select whether or not to connect via message server. [False]:(default) Does not connect via the message server. Connects to the SAP system specified in [Server] and [System Number]. [True]: Specifies the [System ID] & [Logon Group] and connects to the message server specified in [Message Server Host] and [Message Server Service].
System ID	Optional	Enter the name of SAP system.	Required when "True" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].
Message Server Host	Optional	Enter the host name or IP address of the message server.	Required when "True" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].
Message Server Service	Optional	Enter the service name or port number of the message server.	Required when "True" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].
Logon Group	Optional	Enter the group name of the application server.	Required when "True" is selected in [Group/Server Selection].

Event settings(Event Properties)

Function Name/IDOC Base Type	Required	Enter the basic type of IDoc or the general purpose module of RFC including BAPI.	In the same integration component, you cannot register events which have the same [Function Name] and [Program ID].
IDOC Extension Type	Optional	Enter the extension type of IDoc.	Do not enter it when IDoc is not specified at [Function Name/IDOC Base Type].
Program ID	Required	Enter a unique value in gateway service and gateway host specified in [Gateway Server] and [Gateway Host]. Input the value specified here to program ID of RFC destination for SAP GUI.	In the same integration component, you cannnot register events which have the same [Function Name] and [Program ID].
Sap IDocument	Optional	Select whether to receive events as IDoc. [False]:(default) Select this when IDoc is not specified at [Function Name/IDOC Base Type]. [True]: Select this when IDoc is specified at [Function Name/IDOC Base Type].
Encoding	Optional	Enter the encoding of IDoc segment data.	The set value will be valid when IDoc is specified at [Function Name/IDOC Base Type] and targeted SAP system is non-Unicode system. Generally there is no need of setting this property, since the encoding of targeted SAP system is acquired. Set the appropriate encoding when it is not registered properly, like when IDoc segment data garbles.
Reply Type	Optional	Select synchronous execution or asynchronous execution. [Synchronous]:(default) Performs synchronous execution. In SAP system, result data can be received from a script by waiting until the script launched from trigger finishes. [Asynchronous]: Performs synchronous execution. In SAP system, result data can not be received from a script because it does not wait until the script launched from trigger finishes.
Search Category	Optional	Select a search category with [Search] button.
Search Name	Optional	Enter a search keyword of IDoc or the general purpose module to search with [Search] button of RFC including BAPI.	The functions which includes the search keyword in its name will be searched.

About Log

Log of EICS will be output to $DATASPIDER_HOME/server/logs/server.error.log. In addition, the change of log level can be managed from [Default Level] of [Configuration]-[Logging] in EICS. If it is set to "ALL", the detailed log will be output and if it is set to "OFF", the log will not be output.

Restarting DataSpiderServer will set the log level to "INFO".

Connection Pool Settings

Connection pool settings are unique with the following values.
- When [Group/Server Selection] is [False]
  it will be unique with the value of [Username], [Password], [Server], [Client], [Language], [System Number].
- When [Group/Server Selection] is [True]
  it will be unique with the value of [Username], [Password], [Client], [Language], [System ID], [Message Server Host], [Message Server Service], [Logon Group].
Connection pool settings are reflected in the following timing.
1. If the setting connection pool does not exist (the first time created)
  In the timing of the setting completes, connection pool will be created and the settings will be reflected.
2. If the setting connection pool does exist
  When restarting the server, a connection pool will be created with the setting value of a connection pool set last, and its settings will be reflected.
Due to the specification of SAP JCo, the connection number to SAP system will be double of setting value, in order to pool the connection for application data communication and repository reference.

Specification Limits

Data for which cannot execute test in SAP system cannot be used.

Cannot use double byte characters to [Name] of Integration Component.

When creating a new event after deleting existing event, value specified in event deleted may not be unavailable in [Function Name/IDOC Base Type] and [Program ID]. In that case, restart DataSpiderServer and then create it.

If connecting to the same SAP system from multiple DataSpiderServers, overlapping [Program ID] cannot be set to each EICS event.

Main Exceptions

None.

Notes

To execute Outbound operation, JMS server is required.

When setting with EICS, it is recommended to operate in one browser(one tab).
